Fundraising Institute of New Zealand (FINZ) The professional body that represents fundraising in New Zealand.
About us
The Fundraising Institute of New Zealand (FINZ) is the professional body for fundraisers and organisations involved with charities and not-for-profits in New Zealand. We're working with members from hundreds of charities helping them fundraise; professionally, ethically and sustainably. We offer a variety of exceptional nonprofit professional development opportunities, from those new to the nonprofit world to seasoned professionals. Our training and networking includes the FINZ Annual Conference, At least 4 regional training days throughout New Zealand, the FINZ CEO Forum, NZ Certificate in Fundraising, CFRE referrals and one off day training sessions from grants to bequests and everything in between. The Fundraising Institute of New Zealand serves: • Charities seeking representation and advocacy to government and the flexibility to send more staff members to professional development courses • Organisations working to provide services and raise funds in the charitable and not-for-profit sector • Fundraisers and volunteers employed to assist charitable organisations to achieve their mission • The public of New Zealand who donate funds and obtain services from charitable organisations FINZ has been in existence since 1 January 1991 and prior to that operated as a division of TAIF (The Australasian Institute of Fundraising, now the Fundraising Institute of Australia - FIA). The independent New Zealand organisation was set up to better meet the needs of our unique communities and not-for-profit environment. The organisation is run by a Governance Board, CEO and office staff along with regional committees in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin. These are grouped into Northern, Central and Southern Divisions. This network of volunteers is rapidly growing.
