Wikimedia:Requests for permissions
Use this page to request to be a translation administrator, administrator, or a bureaucrat. All requests should be made below, instead of at the Village pump, which has traditionally served as the rights request page, in addition to user talk pages.
Note: Staff of the Wikimedia Foundation are exempt from this page, as their work automatically qualifies them for the role of Administrator on this site.

Requirements for administrators
[edit]As of 3 August 2017, the following are minimum qualifications for users who wish to become administrators on the Outreach Wiki. Note that the "administrator" flag is different from the "translation administrator" flag, and this change only affects the "administrator" flag.
- 10,000 global edits under all registered accounts
- At least 1 year as a registered user under the account which the requester proposes to use for admin activity on Outreach
- No more than 1 active block across all Wikimedia projects on all of the user's accounts
- The account which the user proposes for administrator activity on Outreach already has administrator permissions on at least one other Wikimedia wiki, with
- at least 3,000 edits on that wiki
- at least 1 year as an administrator on that wiki
- at least 300 logged admin actions on that wiki
- no blocks (other than self-requested blocks) within the past 5 years on that wiki. (The account doesn't need to be 5 years old.)

@Tanbirzx: You don't meet the criteria above. Do you have a really compelling reason why we should give you these user rights? Koavf (talk) 19:15, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Koavf: i have already said the main reason. I translated some page from English to Bangla and Urdu. If you will give me this right then i can mark some page for translation. Thank you. Tanbirzx (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 23:01, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- Sure but why can't you meet the required criteria first? Koavf (talk) 05:56, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Koavf: sorry sir it was my mistake. I have read the page [translation admin] — Preceding unsigned comment added 06:20, 4 May 2021 (UTC) by Tanbirzx (talk)
- I don't mind you having the rights but these were decided by the community, so I can't overrule them unilaterally. Koavf (talk) 03:35, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Tanbirzx: do you have experience preparing pages for translation, etc? If all you are doing is translating, you don't need the rights - of your 38 edits to this wiki, I count 10 related to this permission request and it doesn't look like you have been active much on this wiki in general --DannyS712 (talk) 08:41, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- @DannyS712: Yes i have some experience in preparation pages for translation. Yes you are right that i have not much contribution in this wiki. I couldn't find some proper page for translate, so that this is not my fault. If the community give me this rights then i will be able to translate pages and support on the translation field more effectively. I think there will no problems to giving me this rights and i promise that i will not misuse it.Thank you --Tanbirzx — Preceding undated comment added 14:39, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Koavf: Hello sir. Am i not entitled to this right? --

- @Koavf: User is clearly unfamiliar with the translation extension, marked huge chunks of markup for translation when it is still in a mess. Minorax (talk) 01:24, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Tanbirzx: How do you respond to the above? Koavf (talk) 05:29, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Requesting translation admin rights to mark pages for translation after cleaning up, or other maintenance works. I have related experience on other wikis. --Minorax (talk) 12:45, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Koavf: can you take a look at this? --Minorax (talk) 07:51, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks. Koavf (talk) 15:46, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
translation admin rights request for Ameisenigel
[edit]User: Ameisenigel (talk • edits • logs • UserRights • activity • CentralAuth • email)
Hello, I would like to request translation admin rights to be able to mark pages from the backlog for translation (some pages on Special:PageTranslation are awaiting to be marked since October) and to be able to mark them for translation again after some maintenance (like adding Special:MyLanguage to links for a better localisation). I already have these rights on some other projects, so I know how to use the rights. Best regards, --Ameisenigel (talk) 15:49, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
- Done Trusted user who meets all criteria above and is already doing translation work. Danke, meine Freund. Koavf (talk) 16:24, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
admin rights request for Ameisenigel
[edit]User: Ameisenigel (talk • edits • logs • UserRights • activity • CentralAuth • email)
Hello. I am a translation administrator here on Outreach wiki since last year (see my request above). Because of that I am visiting this wiki nearly every day. Besides my acitivity related to translations I am monitoring the recent changes. Admin rights would be helpful for doing some maintenance work (delete translation units that are not translations, delete spam, etc). I have made more than 6,000 edits here and fulfill the criteria mentioned above:
- 10,000 global edits under all registered accounts: 1,845,289 global edits
- At least 1 year as a registered user under the account which the requester proposes to use for admin activity on Outreach: 8 years globally / 3 years locally
- No more than 1 active block across all Wikimedia projects on all of the user's accounts: No blocks
- The account which the user proposes for administrator activity on Outreach already has administrator permissions on at least one other Wikimedia wiki, with
- at least 3,000 edits on that wiki: 1,644,875 edits on Wikidata
- at least 1 year as an administrator on that wiki: 1 year as an administrator on Wikidata
- at least 300 logged admin actions on that wiki: 6,231 logged admin actions on Wikidata
- no blocks (other than self-requested blocks) within the past 5 years on that wiki. (The account doesn't need to be 5 years old.): never been blocked
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns --Ameisenigel (talk) 14:51, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- No objections or questions here. You can ping me in two weeks if there are no objections and I would do the assignment of rights. Koavf (talk) 20:41, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ping @Koavf: as requested. --Ameisenigel (talk) 19:55, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
