Abstract
This essay responds to universities' opposition to patent reform bills that aim to curb nuisance-value patent litigation. Citing the results of a survey of university researchers recently published in the Yale Journal of Law & Technology, it explains that academic researchers generally oppose efforts by their institutions to patent their discoveries and that universities also generally lose money on their patent programs.
