about

P1
"I is another (Je est un autre)," a notion articulated by Arthur Rimbaud, underscores the inherent impossibility of observing oneself with one's own eyes. All reflective mediums drive us to construct our ideal self within a realm of illusion, much like Narcissus enamored with his reflection in the water. Thus, the inevitability of the subject's alienation raises the question: how should one coexist with the ideal self?

P2
When I observe my skin condition, I feel torn, fearful, ashamed, and nauseous. I realize what is in my sight is no longer distorted or altered by any medium, and I am truly observing myself. In that moment, freedom is seized, and I am held captive by my gaze.
"Pierce me with your gaze," he said.

P3
At times, I find myself resembling my father. Despite my aversion to certain parts of him, I have unconsciously inherited some of his traits. This realization dawned on me during a moment of inaction in an intimate relationship. On that day, I sat in silence, just like my father.
Thus, when I reflect upon myself through intimate relationships, I am overwhelmed with tears, attempting to project all my hostility towards my father onto myself.
Occasionally, I experience a profound aversion to my masculinity.

P4
Ooh ha, ooh ha, what would you say confronting the mirror?
Ooh ha, ooh ha, what would you see confronting the mirror?
“These bits are as much a part of me, as I am of them,” I said.
After confirming it was not him, he stopped crying.

"DICA" represents Rev's inaugural art project focused on sound design and collage, emerging from profound self-reflection. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, dermatological conditions, and acts of self-loathing, Rev delves into intimate emotional issues such as sensitivity, inferiority, and anxiety, centered around the theme of "how to give oneself unconditional love.”
