Robert Carl "Bob" Katter (born 22 May 1945) is an Australian politician. He has been a member of the House of Representatives for the Division of Kennedy since 1993.[1]
Career
[change | change source]He has led his own political party, Katter's Australian Party, since 2011. He was the only person to win a seat in his party in the 2016 federal election. He was a member of the Nationals until 2001. He was also an independent from 2001 to 2011.
Personal life
[change | change source]Katter was born in Cloncurry, Queensland. He is of Lebanese ancestry. His father, Bob Katter Sr., was a parliament member of Kennedy. He has five children. His son, Robbie, is the leader of Katter's Australian Party in Queensland.
