This has always been one of my favorite Ka-Spel solo releases, one of the first where he eschews pop songwriting altogether (minus a surprise sea shanty or two) in favor of a full-length cinematic journey. While further scrutiny reveals it to be numerous parts strung together in a way that has become typical of him, those parts in this case hold together extremely well. When listening, I really feel like I’m on the bow of a ship heading out to the depths of the dark ominous ocean at nighttime.
