LUCKNOW: A speeding car rammed into two scooter-borne youths on Kisan Path under the SGPGI police station area on Thursday evening, dragging them for several metres.
A video of the incident, captured by onlookers, has gone viral on social media.
The shocking accident prompted other commuters to chase the car, record the incident, and alert the police.
Police officers from the Kalli West outpost, including in-charge Prabhat Baliyan, Rajit Mishra, and constable Shivam Chaudhary, rushed to the scene.
“The driver of the car has been taken into custody and is being questioned,” confirmed police officials.
According to police reports, the driver, 70-year-old Chandraprakash Tiwari from Tiwariganj, Prayagraj, was traveling towards Chinhat when his car hit a scooter.
The victims, Amir and his pillion rider Rehan, were en route to Mohanlalganj from Aishbagh.
Rehan stated that Amir sustained injuries to his hands and legs in the accident.
