Bangladeshi couple living illegally in Kalyan for over 7 years arrested

Thane police arrested a Bangladeshi couple residing illegally in Kalyan for 7-8 years. The couple, Anjura and Kamal Hasan, entered India illegally and worked as rickshaw drivers and domestic helpers. Their children remain in Bangladesh. Police are investigating their illegal entry and local support network.

KALYAN: The Ulhasnagar crime branch unit of Thane Police arrested a Bangladeshi couple living illegally in the old Sonia Colony in Kalyan. The arrested individuals were identified as Anjura Hasan (37) and Kamal Hasan (44).
According to the police, both of them were living illegally in India for the last 7 to 8 years and were earning their livelihood by driving rickshaws and working in homes.
Ganesh Nyhade of Kolsewadi police station said that the children of the accused are currently in Bangladesh and they have not been able to come here till now. Initial investigation revealed that the accused entered India by crossing the border through illegal means and were working locally for the last 7 to 8 years.
Based on the secret information received by Police Sub Inspector Praveen Khochre, action was taken under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ashok Koli of Ulhasnagar crime unit. The raiding team nabbed Anjura Hasan and Kamal Hasan and handed them to the local Kolsewadi police station for further action.
The police have started further investigation in this matter as to who brought them illegally and through whom their living arrangements were made. The police said that strict surveillance is being kept on foreign nationals living illegally and strict action will be taken against such people.
