'The Sabarmati Report' released on November 15 but the movie had constantly been facing a tough competition from the earlier, Diwali releases - 'Singham Again' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3'. But now, this Vikrant Massey starrer has finally seen a growth through positive word of mouth and has managed to make a better number than the Ajay Devgn movie. Though, Singham Again is on its day 24 and 'The Sabarmati Report' is on its day 10, but the Vikrant Massey film has finally picked up. The movie also stars Raashii Khanna and Riddhi Dogra.
The Sabarmati Report Movie Review
The movie based on the Godhra train burning tragedy has been declared tax free in many states now and the makers had multiple screenings for the Chief Ministers of some states. Thus, it has reflected in the growth in numbers over the weekend. On Saturday, the movie saw a jump of around 85 percent and made Rs 2.6 crore. But on Sunday, it saw a further growth and made Rs 3.10 crore. Thus, the total collection so far is now Rs 18.60 crore, according to Sacnilk.
'The Sabarmati Report' was a small budget movie made for a certain audience and had a limited release in about 600 screens. In that case, these numbers and the growth seems very good. Infact, the multiplexes may have increased the shows of the movie due to the increase in demand due to word of mouth.
On the other hand, 'Bhool Bhulaiayaa 3' continued to dominate over the weekend. On Sunday, it collected more than 'Singham Again' and 'The Sabarmati Report', and made Rs 3.4 crore on its day 24, which is fourth Sunday.
