Mollywood actress Divya Prabha has received several criticisms over a leaked nude scene clip from the critically acclaimed film ‘All We Imagine As Light’. The leaked clip from the Payal Kapadia’s directorial was shared widely on social media platforms with netizens passing comments on Divya Prabhas’ nude scene in the film, without knowledge of the importance of such a scene in the film.

Talking to On Manorama, Divya Prabhas reacted by saying that she had anticipated such a response from a particular section of the Kerala audience. Calling it ‘pathetic’, Divya Prabha said that the community loves to celebrate foreign filmmakers like Yorgos Lanthimos and even the Oscar-winning actress, but gets triggered when Malayali women play such roles in movies.

Divya Prabha keeps hope in the Gen Z men who opposed all such criticisms online. The actress said, “I am happy to see those people, especially men, who came in support and opposed the criticisms. This shows that there is still hope in the present generation’. She also said that she was totally convinced about her character in the movie and that’s why she agreed to perform the scene. “I have won several awards and I have been a pivotal part in several critically acclaimed movies, so I don’t think I have to do a nude scene just to earn popularity,” said the ‘Take Off’ actress.

Divya Prabha said that the film had received Censor Board’s approval before it hit the big screens recently and the board also comprised Malayalis.
Starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon and several others in pivotal roles, ‘All We Imagine As Light’ hit the big screens on November 22.
