Coach Mikel Arteta emphasised on Tuesday that clinching the League Cup could serve as a foundation for additional trophies as he marks his fifth year at Arsenal's helm.
The Arsenal manager secured the FA Cup during his inaugural season in 2020, though subsequent success has proved elusive despite coming close on several occasions.
Currently, Arsenal hold third position in the Premier League, trailing leaders Liverpool by six points with one additional match played.
They are set to face Crystal Palace in the League Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday, followed by another encounter against the same team in the league three days later.
Arteta expressed his desire for additional trophies, including major honours, noting how cup competitions help build positive momentum.
"I fully believe in that, the fact you are winning, you get into the next round of the competition, it builds, it creates something different around the team, that's why these kind of games are really, really important," he said.
The 42-year-old manager stressed that securing the League Cup would significantly boost the club, which hasn't claimed a Premier League title since 2004.
"It brings belief, trust, positive energy," he said.
"Touching a cup, beating someone in the semi-final, beating someone in the final, it generates that energy.
"And I think it creates that right path to go and do something else, especially because of the timing and when the competition is played in this country, it gets the momentum going."
The League Cup final is scheduled at Wembley on March 16.
Arteta, who took charge at Arsenal in December 2019, indicated he would "decide the best team to win it" when questioned about possible extensive changes for Wednesday's match.
"We'll decide that in the morning in relation to how the squad is, obviously the relevance of the match and where we are in the quarter-finals, it becomes a very important match," he said.
