Golden State Warriors keep on shifting things even after their trade since coach Steve Kerr made changes in the rotation. As per latest news by Kerr, he has plans to take down minutes for two key players in order to combine well with the new addition. This shrewd shift is meant to maximize the chances of the team in achieving yet again another deep playoff run. With the Warriors changing approach, all of the attention is now on how these changes affect the chemistry and performance of the team.
Steve Kerr is reportedly planning to reduce time for two Warriors stars
The Golden State Warriors made headlines on Sunday with a major trade as they have acquired Dennis Schroder from the Brooklyn Nets. The move has sparked excitement among fans in the Bay Area. Also, Warriors legend Stephen Curry showed his approval on Instagram. In the trade, the Warriors parted ways with De’Anthony Melton, who is out for the season with an ACL injury.
It was a win-win for the Warriors and the team’s head coach Steve Kerr has reportedly made his big plans for the new Warriors star which will largely impact on two players in the team. As per a report by Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Brandin Podziemski who has seen significant downfalls in his performance and Buddy Hield are reportedly getting their time reduced on the court.
“Schroder is expected to step into a large role in the Warriors’ backcourt. He’s an extra scorer and pick-and-roll ballhandler who should be able to run some offense while Steph Curry is off the court, yet also fit next to Curry in certain lineups, the Warriors believe, because of his pesky defense. Schroder’s arrival will likely lessen the minute totals for Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield, among others,” Slater reported.
Podziemski has previously caught the attention of Kerr amid his poor performances. Following a 119-115 loss to the Denver Nuggets, the head coach shared his thoughts on the 21-year-old shooting guard. “Podz is a hell of a player, but he needs to, and I’ve told him this, he needs to be a smart player, he is one of our guys whose capable of making really good decisions,” Kerr said at the time. “You just keep hitting singles, throw the ball to the open guy. He had the same play last week against Brooklyn where he tried to throw a lob over his shoulder. He cannot be that guy. And he cannot foul jump shooters,” he added.
