Zombies
02:41
|
|||
I had
Always thought our fates would whisk us far away
Growing up by your side almost every day
Getting shown the ropes together
And I knew
All your deepest secrets from the age of twelve
All your hopes and dreams I knew them oh so well
Watching you fall in and out of love
Wondering if I ever cross your mind
Innocence, maybe more than friends
Then again
It's always been you and I
Fighting zombies way into the night
Never knowing what it truly means
Just a mystery to me
These days
We’re hanging out at yours ‘cause the outsides cold and grey
How have we not ever ran out of things to say
Talking under glow in the dark stars
Is it just who we are?
Forever wondering if I ever cross your mind
Innocence, maybe more than friends
Then again
It's always been you and I
Fighting zombies way into the night
Never knowing what it truly means
Just a mystery to me
All those endless hours where we
talked about our lives and growing old
It's always been you and I
Fighting zombies way into the night
Never knowing what it truly means
Just a mystery to me

Between The Same Lines
03:06
|
|||
I miss the coolness of the summer breeze
As it carried the weight
Of the silence between the leaves
I'd risk it all just to spend the day
With you and nobody else
Are we reading between the same lines?
Will I be satisfied in a year's time?
What about in a year's time?
In a year's time
And honestly it's been kind of nice
And I'm glad
That you stuck around for a while
Yeah I hope
You know I'll always be here
Remember me when you're famous
And you're doing cool things
But while we're here
I wanna know what this means
Tell me what you're thinking
With nothing to fear
I'll be happy to hear that you're well
If you decide that what I want
You don't want as well
Cause I dread to know where we will be
In a years time
In a years time
Cause I don't know if you'll still be here
In a years time
I miss the days when you held me near
And it seemed that the weight of the world just
Disappeared

Life Of An Extra
03:42
|
|||
Feet hanging over the edge
Watching as movie scenes unfold in frames
Is it all in my head
Or Is everyone three steps ahead
Promenading, now I'm so sick of asking why
Is it them and not me?
Feel like the the main part
Of a story I'll never be
Am I destined to see
The life of an extra
Just weaving through another's romanticised life?
Would that be justified?
Everyone seems to be dancing in pairs
And floating around with their hearts in the air
Unfolding fairytales every night
But for now I'll sit back
And watch these moments take flight
Lights on the riverside shine over wine
With laughter and jokes and handholding and smiles
Maybe one day I will know what that's like
To be the main part of a romanticised life
Balcony room with a view
Seeing the sights all alone
Without someone to share my thoughts to
Seems just like I'll have to make do
Promenading alone, seeing stars in their eyes
It's always them and not me
Feels like a main character's
Someone I'll never be
Am I destined to see
The life of an extra
Just weaving through another's romanticised life?
Would that be justified?
Everyone seems to be dancing in pairs
And floating around with their hearts in the air
Unfolding fairytales every night
But for now I'll sit back
And watch these moments take flight
Lights on the riverside shine over wine
With laughter and jokes and handholding and smiles
Someday I just want to know what that's like
To be the main part of a romanticised life

Paper Planes
03:43
|
|||
I remember
The times that we spent together
The skies were blue
And your roller skates were brand new
We didn't know that the world was turning
And there'd be a time when we would inevitably grow older
Back then we had no clue
We didn't even know what we wanted to do
Tomorrow never seemed to come so soon
Cause there were
Good nights and pillow fights
Midnight snacks by candle light
Playing shows every night to crowds of toys
Without an ounce of stage fright
Daisy chains and paper planes
Safe to say it'll never be the same
It will never be the same
It will never be the same
I remember
The stories we wrote together
It's like we knew
That the pages would unfold as we grew
Oh the way it goes
Just follow your heart because it knows
More than your head
I'll never understand that though
Back then we had no clue
We didn't need to know what we wanted to do
Tomorrow never seemed to come so soon
Cause there were
Good nights and pillow fights
Midnight snacks by candle light
Playing shows every night to crowds of toys
Without an ounce of stage fright
Daisy chains and paper planes
Safe to say it'll never be the same
It will never be the same

i don't know
02:31
|
|||
I can't seem to wake up at a normal time
And honestly I think that it's hard to find
Someone who cares about you day and night
Do you remember when
We used to stay up talking all night
About the real meaning of life
For us tomorrow
Or even in the next few weeks
Cause I don't know
Where there is to go
Spin me round until i'm dizzy
And make me walk until find
Somewhere to fall asleep
I know we're all stuck in the same boat
But does that make it harder to know
What's on the horizon
Are we headed for an iceberg
Or just another surprise
Oh, you know karma will bite your back
And kick you in the hole you made for me
Your mind is just a deadly disease
That nobody needs
Oh I don't know
Where there is to go
Spin me round until i'm dizzy
And make me walk until I find
Somewhere to fall asleep
Oh I don't know
Where I should go
I never thought it would be easy
But I just hope to find a solace in
My daydreams

A Small Village
02:56
|
|||
the first thing I noticed
when you walked in
was your smile
a grin that could light up a room
or a house
or a small village
without having to try
then you looked my way
I didn't know what to do
so I just waved
I thought it was awkward
but you seemed to like it
you came over
just to say
do I know you
cus you seem familiar
in the sense
that I can breathe
when you're near
can I show you
what I mean
when I say
you remind me of the moon
in the prettiest way
I wasn't sure
what to think
when you said your favourite film
was spirited away
it's a bit funny
how it ended up that way
cause I love that one too
I thought I should say
do I know you
cause you seem familiar
in the sense that I can see
when you're near
can I hold you
and repeat what you said
you remind me of the moon
in the prettiest way
