Additional Access

Commuter Lots

All student permits are valid for parking at the Commuter lots during all hours, except between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and home football Saturdays.

Vehicle Flasher Use

Students with a valid parking permit may use designated short-term parking spaces for up to 15 minutes, provided their vehicle’s four-way flashers are engaged.

Important: Flashers do not authorize parking in the following areas:

  • Pay station spaces
  • Along curbs or on sidewalks
  • Locations that obstruct roadways
  • Disability spaces or wheelchair ramps
  • Bus pull-offs
  • Fire lanes
  • Reserved spaces

Vehicles parked in these areas may be ticketed or towed, even if flashers are in use.

Evening and Weekend

Permits are valid at most faculty/staff parking areas on weekdays from 4 p.m. through 7:30 a.m. and all day on Saturdays and Sundays, as highlighted in yellow with the E/W symbol on the student parking interactive map. Orange lots are available after 3 p.m.

Additional evening/weekend access in the gated facilities is available two business days after purchasing your permit.

No parking at Commuter lots between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.

Events

Permits are valid for most campus events.

On Penn State Football home game days, park in areas west of Bigler Road.
