Apple Certification Policies

Apple offers certification programs for professionals in business, education, and other fields. Certification differentiates you as a skilled professional to colleagues, employers, and prospective clients, and gives you a competitive edge in an evolving job market.

Overview

This Apple Certification Policies (“Policies”) document sets out specific requirements, expectations, and additional information for individuals taking an Apple Certification Examination (“Exam”). Capitalized terms used in these Policies have the meanings set forth in the Apple Certification Program Agreement (“Agreement”).

Apple Certification Program Agreement
You will receive the Agreement prior to taking the exam. You must review and agree to the Agreement before taking the Exam. If you do not agree to the terms of the Agreement, you are not eligible to participate in the Exam.

Accommodations for People with Disabilities
Technology is most powerful when it empowers everyone. Apple accommodates students under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and local applicable law. To submit your accommodation request in the Exam application, follow these steps: 

  • Sign in to the Apple Certification Records System (ACRS).
  • Select the Exam you want to take.
  • At the bottom of the Exam application, select “Yes” for the question: “Are you requesting special accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for testing?”
  • From the list in the menu, choose the amount of additional time you’re requesting.
  • In the text box, provide details specific to your accommodations request.

If the support team needs additional information, they may ask you to provide additional detail for your request.   

Payment
Sign in to the Apple Certification Records System (ACRS) with your Apple ID. You can view available Exams by clicking “Credentials,” and then selecting the exam that you want register for. You’ll pay for the Exam during the registration and scheduling process.

Right of Exclusion
At its sole discretion, Apple may exclude or limit the Apple Certification Program to specific regions, countries, and test centers. 

Taking Exams

Retake Policy
Unless otherwise stated in a special policy for your Exam, individuals who do not pass an Exam may purchase another Exam and retake it after 7 days have passed from the completion of your last attempt. Exam retakes must be completed by the specified deadline. A maximum of four attempts are allowed for each Exam.

Challenging Exam Items
If you want to challenge an Exam item, send an email to [email protected] within 3 days of taking the exam using the subject “Exam Item Evaluation.” A separate email must be submitted for each exam item you are challenging. For your challenge to be considered, the following information must be provided:

  • Your name
  • Your registration ID
  • Exam name, number, and date
  • Testing center location
  • Specific reasons why you’re challenging the item
  • Phone number (optional)

Provide detailed information, but do not take screenshots of the exam.

Challenges typically receive an acknowledgment email, followed by either the result of the challenge or an anticipated decision date. Resolution of any challenges to an Exam item is at the sole and final discretion of Apple.

Analysis of Exam Data
The Apple Certification Program team conducts statistical analysis of Exam data to enforce certification policies and the Apple Certification Program Agreement. Apple may disqualify a candidate based on results from data forensics or statistical analysis.

Exam Security and Integrity
Apple is committed to protecting the integrity of the Exams and Apple Certification Program. Exam proctors are authorized to take appropriate measures against any person who violates testing rules or engages in any misconduct. Such misconduct includes, but may not be limited to:

  • Attempts to provide or accept improper assistance
  • Submission of work that is not entirely your own
  • Attempting to use unauthorized materials (including, but not limited to, publication of Exam questions or answers and information memorized or otherwise gained from an Exam session)
  • Possession of unauthorized items at a testing center during an exam 
  • Any misconduct as determined by data or statistical analysis 
  • Alteration or modification of any Exam records
  • Impersonating another person to gain access to the Exam 
  • Violating the Exam retake policy as set forth in these Policies
  • Any act to copy, publish, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, translate, or otherwise disseminate any exam or portion of an exam

Apple reserves all rights and remedies available at law and in equity arising from a breach of the Apple Certification Program Agreement, the Apple Certification Policies, or any infringement of Apple’s intellectual property rights. 

Candidate Retesting at Request of Apple
At a time agreed on with the candidate, Apple may in its sole discretion require a candidate to retest for any reason including, but not necessarily limited to, any irregularities, whether or not such irregularity is the result of the conduct of the candidate.

Revoked Certifications

Scores and Credentials Revoked
A person who has been determined to have attempted to in any way undermine the security or integrity of an Exam or the Apple Certification Program may be disqualified from Certification and/or have their credentials revoked. This remedy shall not limit any remedy at law or in equity available to Apple.
