Chris Eggertsen

Chris Eggertsen has written for Billboard since 2019 and joined the staff as a full-time editor in 2022. He specializes in coverage of the music business, with stories encompassing every aspect of the industry including record labels, publishing, management, technology and the live sector. As associate editor, he helps lead and shape music business coverage for Billboard Pro, from breaking news to deep-dive features on the latest industry trends. In addition to assigning and editing stories by Billboard's crack team of business writers, he writes biweekly columns on the latest artist signings and industry deals. He also has extensive experience covering conferences, concerts, awards shows and press junkets, including on-camera interviews. Before joining Billboard, he wrote about film, TV, music and pop culture for sites and publications including The Los Angeles Times, The Hollywood Reporter, HitFix, Uproxx, Los Angeles Magazine and Boxoffice Pro. A Southern California native, he graduated from UCLA with a degree in Communications and remains based in Los Angeles.
