Give us your first impressions.
On arrival, it felt like we had entered a rainforest retreat, the kind of escape we'd hoped for on an adventure to Maui. We were initially drawn to the property because it was on 15 acres of ocean view, tropical land, and it didn't disappoint on that respect.

What’s the crowd like?
The overarching desire from this traveler is a crowd that doesn't include children. The property is just for adults, and that's so appreciated. If you're checking into Hotel Wailea, you're going to get some peace and quiet.

How was check in? Check-in, like the vibe of the property, was casual, intimate, and seamless. Absolutely no technical difficulties.

How were the rooms?
We stayed in an Ocean View Suite, and gasped when I opened the sliding doors and the ocean breeze hit me. The room's decor was sleek and refined. Oak floors, coral fossil stone, and Hawaiian Ohia wood cabinetry were neutral—a color scheme that ensured a sense of ease.

Room service and food: What did you have?
I was so excited to see The Hotel Wailea describe their menu as "hyper-local," focusing on Maui's produce. I started the meal off with torched ahi tuna, that came with Australian Black Truffle Tare on brioche. And though I was tempted to go for the macadamia nut crusted Colorado lamb, I opted for steamed maki mahi-mahi with bok choi.

Any other tips?
Allow the staff to arrange a beach picnic, a gourmet spread in a "curated" location on the sand while you watch the sunset next to some beaching turtles. Fan of vintage cars? Take the drive of your dreams in one of their 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster reproduction. You can also arrange kiteboarding lessons, sunset sailing, and aerial yoga.

Bottom line: Worth it?
If you're looking to have an outstanding experience on Maui, this hotel doesn't disappoint in any department.
