During a sketch on Saturday Night Live, the 49-year-old comedienne talked to the camera about taking on the role which Alec Baldwin has done many times before on the sketch show.
In the clip, the TV and movie star is seen studying Trump's press conferences. Later, she adds blonde eyebrows and a wig to resemble the former Apprentice star. 'I'm trying to show you I got range,' she says.

Hoping: On Sunday, Leslie Jones, 49, hoped to take over the role of President Donald Trump in a skit released by the show
Leslie and SNL co-star Bobby Moynihan watched Alec shoot his bit from offstage.
'Man, Alec is so good,' noted Leslie.
'The best man. He's got so much material for the next four years,' Bobby responded.
When Leslie questioned if he would continue portraying Trump, Bobby asked who would replace him.

She began to mimic his voice and hand movements.
'Huge. Huge,' she began. 'Drain the swap of tremendous Muslims,' she added attempting to poke fun at the President by combining narratives from his campaign to create a false statement.
Her obsession with landing the role began to affect a romantic relationship she was involved in.
