About us
Travel and tourism strengthens connections, enriches our lives and drives the prosperity of the American economy. Friends, families and individuals pack up the car, board a flight or a train seeking adventure, or maybe just relaxation. The story that is seldom told is about how these experiences support thousands of diverse communities across the country. Hotel and restaurant staff, tour guides, museum docents, lifeguards and ski instructors are just a few examples of the jobs that need tourists to earn a living and keep their businesses alive. The U.S. Tourism Economy Alliance seeks to tell these stories of economic revival, particularly in light of flawed public policy like the so-called Credit Card Competition Act (CCCA) that would significantly hurt tourism just as it becomes vibrant again.
