Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are the most accessible and life-transforming tech device I have owned in recent years. As someone with a severe upper limb disability, they allow me to message, call, and stay connected hands-free. These smart specs have given me the ability to take and share photos and videos without using my hands for the first time ever. The independence they provide is invaluable. However, Meta’s smart specs could be even more accessible to people like me. I have written a piece for Aestumanda outlining four improvements I would like to see Meta make to their smart glasses. I think they would be popular with everyone, elevating the user experience. 1. 🚀 Emoji Support in Messaging: Adding a layer of expressiveness to conversations. 2. Hands-free Call Hang-up with voice: Offering greater convenience, especially for those with disabilities. 3. Smart Home Device Integration: Enabling seamless control of smart home environments. 4. Voice Commands for WhatsApp Video: Enhancing accessibility and ease of use. If you are listening Meta, these additions will significantly improve the functionality of these innovative glasses. Back in September, I watched Meta's reveal of the prototype for the Orion VR Glasses. Instantly, I thought, "They're going to make another smartphone!" Read the latest post to learn more about how I made this connection and why I think this would be a smart strategic move for Meta. #Facebook #Meta #VR #AR #AI #FutureOfTech #FuturePhone https://lnkd.in/gUaRFmB6

Nvidia's earnings mark the most-watched event on Wall Street — forecasters expect more than an 80% beat on earnings per share and revenue compared to a year ago. And yet, while Nvidias stock has seen ridiculous gains this year, it's still paled in comparison to MicroStrategy. Michael Saylor's bitcoin-centric firm has more than doubled the returns of the AI chipmaker — even though it's mostly flown under the radar compared to the latter. What's more stunning, though, is when you put the two companies on the same chart as the S&P 500, the most popular benchmark stock index barely even registers. 🟢 MicroStrategy, +615% 🟢 NVDA, +199% 🟢 S&P 500, +24.5% This chart from Opening Bell Daily speaks volumes.

This past weekend, I had the honor of attending my third Roblox Developers Conference (RDC), and once again, I was blown away by the community. There’s truly nothing like the Roblox community—except perhaps the incredible Roblox team, who care so deeply about empowering them. Creativity, collaboration, and innovation are in the DNA of both the platform and its people. It's inspiring to witness. I’ve always believed that the future of the internet will resemble platforms like Roblox more than newsfeeds or short-form videos. I could be wrong, but when you look at the numbers—~80M DAU and growing—it’s hard not to be a believer. David Baszucki shared his bold vision for 300M DAU and a path to driving more than 10% of the total annual games industry revenue, and I can see it happening. During the keynote, Manuel Bronstein also shared insights about the demand of Racing on the platform with 15M+ searches for the term in Q2 alone—wow! This year, we launched NASCAR Tycoon on Roblox, and we recently wrapped a collaboration with Voldex on Driving Empire, the top driving game on Roblox with 10M+ Monthly Active Users. For a limited time during the real-world Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway, we created a playable track featuring the Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro. In just two short weeks, we saw: 🕹️ 5.7M users exposed to the event over 26M times 🏁 1.5M users raced the "NASCAR 400," completing 1.2M 100-lap challenges 🛞 The NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro saw 7.9M driving sessions, covering 43M miles in 18M minutes 🗺️ And the collaboration drove 1M new visits to NASCAR Tycoon When I talk to peers about the scale and engagement of the Roblox platform, they are always amazed. When you consider the time spent on Roblox—around 2.4 hours per user per day—you begin to see why every brand will need a Roblox strategy. In addition to connecting with talented developers and learning about Roblox’s latest platform innovations at RDC, I had the honor of presenting the award for Best Use of Tech at the annual Roblox Innovation Awards alongside my friend Clarence Maximillian. It was truly a "pinch me" moment and I'm grateful for the invitation. Congratulations to Neura Studios Founder Yevheniy Shestopalko for winning with Clip It, the largest short-form video creation and sharing app on Roblox. Here's a short clip of our fun exchange on stage with Justin Sousa. We’re excited to continue exploring what’s possible on this incredible platform and to make even more connections with developers and creators. A special thank you to our friends at Roblox for being amazing collaborators, creators, and all-around great people. It was wonderful to see you all: Stephanie Latham, Lisa (Giovanzana) Willett, Brandon Volas, Todd Lichten, Jessica Meehan, Giulianna Zetterlund, Erin McDearman, Arvind Jayaram, Rachel Rothkrug, Rebecca Crose, Winnie Burke, Allison McDuffee, Morgan Tucker, and more 🤝

Emerging technologies don’t simply materialize fully formed; they require the establishment of supply chains, the development of manufacturing processes, and the evolution of the technology itself. Along this journey, the cost incurred includes learning from the ten unsuccessful paths before arriving at the eleventh one that proves effective…a perceptive read if you are working in the Spatial Computing space

This is a worthwhile overview on the bets Satya Nadella has made at Microsoft. His overarching them has been that with AI, every old fight and every old bet the Microsoft has made was back on the table, is paying off. He's made some big bets, including in OpenAI. A few didn't pay off, and a few more are still up in the air. He's successfully put Alphabet Inc./Google back on it's heals. He's forced Cisco to step up their security game. It's fascinating to see how he's revitalized the company and made it relevent again while building its resiliency to weather a few failures along the way. #Microsoft #satyanadella #ai #innovation #competition #technology https://lnkd.in/e7ssR6JM

HLTH kicks off in Las Vegas tomorrow! Microsoft, Google, NVIDIA and dozens of other tech companies are attending. I'll be on the ground for CNBC. Based on the speaking agenda and announcements leading up to the conference, AI tools that can tackle administrative burdens will be the star of this year’s show. Health-care's daunting administrative workload is a major cause of burnout in the industry, and it’s part of the reason a nationwide shortage of 100,000 workers is expected by 2028, according to consulting firm Mercer. Tech companies, eager to carve out a piece of the health-care market, argue that their generative AI tools can help. See you there! #HLTH, HLTH Inc.

From Denny's to Dominating AI: The Inspiring Story of Jensen Huang and NVIDIA Ever heard of a billion-dollar idea being hatched over pancakes? Well, that's exactly what happened with Nvidia, the graphics processing powerhouse we all know today! Jensen Huang, the visionary CEO, wasn't always leading a tech empire. Believe it or not, his journey began at a Denny's booth in Silicon Valley. That's right, in 1993, Huang and his co-founders huddled over coffee and Grand Slams, brainstorming the idea for a revolutionary chip – one that would unlock the potential for realistic 3D graphics on PCs. Talk about fueling innovation! Fast forward to today, and Nvidia is a $400 billion behemoth, at the forefront of artificial intelligence and accelerated computing. Their graphics processing units (GPUs) are the secret sauce behind everything from cutting-edge video games to groundbreaking scientific simulations. Here's what makes Nvidia's story so inspiring: 👉 Humble Beginnings: It's a reminder that world-changing ideas can emerge from anywhere, even a casual breakfast meeting. 👉 Bold Vision: Huang and his team dared to dream big and tackle a complex technological challenge. 👉 Relentless Innovation: Nvidia hasn't stopped pushing boundaries. They're constantly evolving and adapting to the ever-changing tech landscape. So, the next time you're brainstorming, remember the Denny's booth that birthed Nvidia. You never know where inspiration might strike! Recently I've watch the WWDC...And, let's talk about Apple Intelligence. Just using Tim Cook words and mixing with some thoughts about their new product rationale. ✨Tim :"It has to be intuitive and easy to use." ✨Tim: "It has to be deeply integrated into your product experiences. " 🤓 Me: Diggin a bit on this, many people assumed that Apple would just call OpenAI for all AI tasks. Instead, at WWDC, they revealed their own: ➜On-device model for simple tasks such as writing and summarizing content, including an on-device semantic index enabling Siri to take actions across apps. This means offline AI, many users will opt for Apple's on-device model for simple AI queries, avoiding public LLMs. ➜Private cloud model for advanced AI queries, ensuring your data remains secure. This means AI integrated across apps, OS, private cloud, and Apple devices ✨Tim: "Most importantly, it needs to understand you and be deeply rooted in your personal context, including your daily routine, relationships, communications, and other aspects of your life." ✨Tim: "And, of course, it has to be built with privacy from the ground up. " 🤓 Me: Unlike other AI players, Apple’s business model doesn’t require monetizing your data. Put simply, people don’t trust any other AI player with their data: ➜Google and Meta make money from targeted ads. ➜OpenAI has a lot of drama. ➜Microsoft is dealing with the fallout from its Recall feature. In contrast, Apple has long emphasized privacy. People’s trust in Apple to protect their data is a huge strategic advantage, as always I have my doubts but, let's see what happens.

NVDA's Earnings Explosion...But What's Next For Tech? Today in Tao Daily, we dive into the circus surrounding Nvidia's jaw-dropping first-quarter earnings. A staggering $26 billion in revenue, up 260% from last year, and an EPS increase of 560% to $6.12. The company also announced a much-anticipated 10-for-1 stock split and projected second-quarter revenues that surpass expectations by 4.3%. Yet, despite these scorching figures, NVDA's stock saw a modest post-market gain of about 5.5% - a clear sign that high expectations had already been baked in. This episode also explores the broader implications for the NASDAQ and the semiconductor sector following Nvidia's results. Additionally, we zoom out to assess the tech sector at large, pinpointing why a cautious approach might still be warranted amid the excitement. Tune in to understand what Nvidia’s performance could spell for the market's future. To get these insights delivered daily, visit my profile and cli ck the link

Nvidia is in a very tough and interesting position. The position of having their biggest competitive threat coming from their largest and best customers. How often does that happen? The reality is that all of Nvidia’s top five customers are all building their own AI silicon. They are not going to give Nvidia 80%+ margins forever. It only takes the hyperscalers gaining a few percentage points of market share to make a real dent in Nvidia earnings. I’ve been saying for two years now that the biggest AI workloads are all going to move on to homegrown silicon. This is a very real threat to Nvidia. if you know, you know NVIDIA annual shareholder meeting today: june 26 2024 09:00 pst in about an hour we'll have a chance to listen to new developments. it's breath-taking. the speed of not only NVIDIA's ability to navigate (well i guess they must be using their own (ai) to decide what where how to do and then some. huh?) more importantly just as Apple Microsoft defined the pervasiveness of computers. their applications. we believe NVIDIA holds that position currently. they have been handsomely rewarded in the markets. a valuation as the most valuable in the world. 3.3 trillys. and going. so every and all announcements are truly where the centre of the universe of chip design, manufacturing, exists. it's more than simply offering state of the art chip design for (ai) modelling. where Alphabet Inc. organizes the world's information. NVIDIA makes sense of it. and everyone else applies it, to their subject matter expertise. this is the change that is afoot. at this moment. where it was a race to offer advertisers of services/products a better understanding of their clientele, now the lens is sharper. there is no need to suggest age/sex/ethnicity/generational differences. there are behaviours. theses behaviours are independent of what data was used to point adverts to. to get these people to buy more sh^t. that's the base of the u.s. economy. it's apparently consumer driven. and so in this post pandemic world where it literally stopped. and we were forced to sit still. wait it out as the storm clouds passed. in hopes no one. not us. or loved ones would perish. that time was a generational shift. we all felt. it. no matter what class you were. NVIDIA is the fulcrum Google is the waterfall or Google is the head NVIDIA the neck wherever the neck turns that is where the head has their attention. the neck keeps the attention of the head there. so it appears as if in many ways Google has in essence offered the search part of it's business up for grabs. this is why Perplexity exists, and others. a new dynamic pricing auction model is about to emerge. it will as it is by nature adversarial. let's not fool ourselves. we are designed to be adversarial. it's our nature. and in coveting $$$$$ as the prime objective. money for the sake of money this will destroy a lot of thoughtful, mindful, intentionally beneficial innovation. why? well. it's not playing according to the whims of a recommendation machine that rewards those that are part of it's invisible army. today is a crowning. it's a crown. upon the head of jensen. this is akin to king charles and his crowning. we wonder who will be at the crowning. to recognize this eventful day. it's good to be king. ;) < . > source: https://lnkd.in/eumX4num

California to Train Students, Educators in AI The State of California announced a first-of-its-kind AI education initiative with NVIDIA. The public-private collaboration supports the state’s goals in workforce training and economic development by giving universities, community colleges and adult education programs in California the resources to gain skills in generative AI. “AI will continue to become more advanced and more prominent in all sectors, and California has the responsibility to support and prepare our students and faculties,” said Amy Tong, secretary of the California Government Operations Agency. “As a world leader in AI computing, NVIDIA is a natural partner to prepare the future of California’s workforce.” ✨ Working With California Colleges and Universities Through this initiative, California educators can gain certification through the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute University Ambassador Program, which connects instructors with high-quality teaching kits, workshop content and NVIDIA GPU-accelerated workstations in the cloud. “It’s always good to equip our professors and teachers because, as mentors to our youth, they are in the best position to help shape students’ career paths,” Tong said. By empowering educators across the state with the skills to harness the latest AI technologies and NVIDIA GPUs, the initiative can prepare full-time students about to enter the workforce and it can train working professionals who are expanding their skills through community college or adult education courses. ✨ Bolstering Efforts to Bridge the Digital Divide NVIDIA is already working on multiple projects across California to make AI more accessible and understandable for students from a variety of backgrounds. The company’s educational initiatives and industry-spanning collaborations are helping students and professionals in biotechnology and life sciences, advanced manufacturing, media and entertainment, and other fields to gain proficiency in harnessing AI to support their work, enhance their productivity and drive innovation. San José State University is evaluating how the NVIDIA Omniverse development platform could support the creation of digital twins — 3D virtual representations of real-world systems — for the city of San José. During the university’s annual Black Engineer Week in June, NVIDIA hosted dozens of students for a daylong program featuring tech demos and career advice discussions. Feeling one misstep from disaster? Nvidia's CEO does too. Learn why a bit of paranoia can be your secret weapon. - Embrace a bit of paranoia to stay vigilant and proactive in business. - Recognize that a few bad decisions can jeopardize your business and reputation. Strive to be honest, fair, and kind. - Identify the type of person you want to become and work towards it consistently. - Be thankful for your opportunities and achievements. I'm very excited to see this, if this report is accurate. If we leave aside the hotness or otherwise of Gen AI (I think lots of upside eventually, but also lots of risk), I think ambient computing, and the convergence of a variety of tech: IoT, edge, cheap small compute, etc is going to be profoundly transformative - hopefully over a shortening horizon. Apple stepping into spatial computing with Vision Pro was a huge milestone. Apple has the product discipline and strategic determination to drive maturity in this space. Moving forward with a cheaper, less capable, but more accessible product is a great way to both broaden awareness of, and receptiveness to, spatial computing, hopefully without crossing over the infamous "creepy line". I'm hopeful this approach will also increase the breadth of feedback that users will provide, and also shorten the feedback loop - hopefully leading to faster improvements, and overall better product. Really exciting to see how this develops, and impacts how we work.

It seems that every week another CEO announces that they are no longer doing 1on1 meetings… At first, Jensen Huang (CEO of Nvidia) announced he doesn’t do 1on1s. Then others from across the tech world started to do the same: Zeb Evans from ClickUp Karri Saarinen from Linear Howard Lerman from Yext I also started experimenting with 3-person meetings instead of my weekly 1on1s (every other week). There seems to be a new trend - a shift in meeting practices. Meetings are important, but you’ve got to be purposeful about how you meet. Anyone else experimenting with removing 1on1 meetings? Or is this trend doomed to end?
