Leading decisively in times of change
- Indecision has downsides, especially in times of sudden change. It paralyzes an organization. When it must move quickly, it creates doubt, lack of focus, exhaustion, and yes, even resentment. It's bad for business, one of my clients wavered far too long deciding what to do after a competitor suddenly took a dramatic price decrease. It cost them significant market share, and they never recovered. Let's talk about six tactics to help you decisively end indecision. First up, evaluate the true impact of a wrong decision. Fear of making an incorrect decision paralyzes us, step back and ask, what's the worst thing that could happen in the long run if this decision turns out to be wrong? Very often, the consequences really aren't so serious. Get comfortable with a possibility of being wrong remembering that you make decisions. Decisions don't make you as long as you're right often enough…
