My name is Yasha, I live in Tel Aviv in Israel and I am a back in the engineer at GitLab. Volunteering aligns with my values and I I want to do things that push my values forward. I find that helping people is a good thing. I think it's more about why not. If I have the time, the comfort and the energy, then I think this is just the way to go. I think that it's a really beautiful platform to show people that the company is pushing for these initiatives. So volunteering is part of my life outside of GitLab. And if the company gives us this platform, then this is an opportunity to recruit more people to join these kinds of initiatives. And I think, you know, the more people the merrier. Whenever somebody comes to me who I've taught or coached or have helped in in any way before, and they tell me about their progress or that they were inspired or that they did something as a result, I think that always feels good. I don't think there's anything comparable to the feeling when someone says that they were inspired to do something because you have had an impact on them in some way. I signed up to a few of the coaching events where we coach students around the concepts of, of technology and business. And I'm trying to organize a local activity with some other colleagues where we are going to go to a restaurant that serves people that may not be able to get food on their own. They essentially allow people to eat for free without judgment. And we're hopefully going to to go there, help serving, help keeping the space nice and clean. It's a nice, you know, opportunity to bring people together. As well as do something good.
