One of my favorite acronyms in #SoftwareEngineering is WTF - Where to Focus. When you have a small team you should focus as much energy as possible on the pieces that make your business competitive and buy everything else. I guarantee your cost estimate to justify building a tangential capability over buying it is missing a bunch of hidden cost factors.

Building a business is a journey, and sometimes it means rethinking what you thought you knew. 💡 Over the past few months, I’ve been heads-down on building Approval Heroes—working on everything from our business plan to refining our website. Along the way, I thought I had a solid mission and purpose statement, but it wasn’t speaking to me like it should. It wasn’t until I came across Ryan Deiss' video, "How to Make Top 1% Decisions in Business," https://lnkd.in/gRaNzpEb that I had an aha moment. He shared examples of what a truly effective mission statement looks like, and I realized ours wasn’t quite there. It was good, but it didn’t fully capture our vision or impact. So, I hunkered down to refine it, to make sure it truly reflected what Approval Heroes stands for. And now, I couldn’t be more excited about where we’ve landed: “To empower people to make confident financial decisions by making borrowing simple, transparent, and personalized for every stage of life.” It’s more than words; it’s our commitment to transform how people approach borrowing. From helping people navigate their financial options effortlessly to leveraging AI technology for transparent and personalized loan matches, our purpose is to reshape how Canadians find financial solutions. I’m proud of the work that's gone into this—it's the foundation of everything Approval Heroes will be. And I’m eager to share more about how we’ll disrupt the lending industry and empower every person who comes to our platform. 🚀 What’s one moment that changed how you saw your own business or mission? Let’s connect—I’d love to hear your journey. And if you’re curious about our purpose or what Approval Heroes has been building, stay tuned. 👀
