From creating meal plans to making history more accessible, discover how AI is turning the once unimaginable into reality in December’s edition of The Monthly Tech-In. 💡 This month, we’ll explore how we’re merging technology with tradition and share insights on where AI might be heading in 2025.
Great insights! Microsoft highlights how AI reshapes everything from preserving history to driving sustainability and innovation. The AI-powered tour guide in Rome, which uses cross-laminated timber for data centers, shows how technology and tradition can work together to create smarter, more sustainable solutions. AI's role in accelerating scientific discovery and redefining community spaces like libraries proves its potential to transform work and daily life. A key point: AI isn't just about efficiency—it’s about unlocking new possibilities for progress and connection. We can't wait to see where these trends lead in 2025. Well done, Microsoft!
Yes, AI can do a lot of great things. When I first started in computer programming, there were no PCs. We programmed on punched cards. We studied AI. When I moved to a new city and school, it was like heaven to work at a terminal. AI, however, is like anything else, it can be abused. I just posted a link I found online from a group of people who would take tests for you. That's dangerous. That's the thing about technology. For people who are using it for its intended purpose, it's great. I have been using copilot to try it out. I like keeping up with the technology. However, I can see some very bad uses for this technology. Doing your work for you. If people are doing that, they will never learn anything. I am an inventor and designer. I look for things to innovate. I can see meaningful possibilities that others not in the computer science field might not.
Great insights as always. There's so much AI can help accomplish and so much room for it to grow in its abilities.
I, for one, welcome our new silicon overlords.
Told you Rome could be built in less than 11 years by a superbrain, and in a day with ai, it's creating it over and over each time it displays it on your screen now.
Can’t wait to see what Microsoft does bringing this new Technology using there great teams to bring great apps
Exciting updates from Microsoft! From AI tour guides in Rome to sustainable datacenter innovations, we’re blending technology and tradition for a brighter future. Looking forward to 2025! 🚀

8hYou are totally wrong. AI does not chop onions or garlic. AI does not lay the table or wash the dishes. Very clever devices like the potato peeler, the grater, the fly swat and the microwave, were designed in a truly intelligent human design era long before AI came along. AI is not clever enough to design a practical shopping trolley that goes easily up the steps with heavy items. My latest home computer is far less efficient that the one I had 10 years ago. It takes much longer to open documents, review and compare information, cut and paste anything I require. There are no decent instruction manuals or logical information structures for devices like mobile phones. Multi-billion dollar tech companies have irrational help desks manned by people who don’t understand how the devices work. AI could be very useful to study traffic patterns and eliminate traffic jams. We should be using AI for things like that. But mostly it is about taking control away from normal people, wasting their time, confusing and distracting them so that they believe their own minds are dysfunctional and they must turn to AI for help. I live on a different planet to you. Time to get real
