Last semester, here at Tickle College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee, I alongside Neh Patel, Christopher Lee, Kyung Min Han completed my final project for COSC594 Advanced Bioinformatics, and I wanted to share some highlights. Project Overview: For the final project, we delved into the fascinating world of binary classification and regression models to perform supervised learning, focusing on prediction resistance to the Artemesian medication, a drug used to fight Malaria. The journey involved exploring diverse models to enhance accuracy and efficiency through the use of different Python frameworks, such as Scikit-learn and Tensorflow, to perform numerous training algorithms including logistic regression, boosting (through XGBoost), backpropogation (through neural networks), and more.
