Last semester, here at Tickle College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee, I alongside Neh Patel, Christopher Lee, Kyung Min Han completed my final project for COSC594 Advanced Bioinformatics, and I wanted to share some highlights. Project Overview: For the final project, we delved into the fascinating world of binary classification and regression models to perform supervised learning, focusing on prediction resistance to the Artemesian medication, a drug used to fight Malaria. The journey involved exploring diverse models to enhance accuracy and efficiency through the use of different Python frameworks, such as Scikit-learn and Tensorflow, to perform numerous training algorithms including logistic regression, boosting (through XGBoost), backpropogation (through neural networks), and more. Attached to this post is the comprehensive presentation. Dive into the details of the project, methodologies employed, and the outcomes achieved.
