#OTD in 1997, NASA launched the groundbreaking Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn. It was a tremendous yet bittersweet achievement for NASA Lewis (today, NASA Glenn) as it was the 119th, and final, launch managed by the center, bringing to a close a 35-year legacy. The Cassini mission helped scientists uncover the mysteries of Saturn, relaying thousands of images and enabling decades of research. Techniques developed during Cassini have also informed more recent exploration missions, including #EuropaClipper, which launched Oct. 14.
