Let's delve deeper into some of AWS's key services: 1. **Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud)**: Provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud, allowing you to quickly scale up or down based on demand. It offers a variety of instance types optimized for different workloads. 2. **AWS Lambda**: A serverless computing service that allows you to run code in response to events without provisioning or managing servers. You pay only for the compute time consumed. 3. **Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service)**: Object storage service that offers scalability, data availability, security, and performance. It is commonly used for storing and retrieving large amounts of data. 4. **Amazon RDS (Relational Database Service)**: Managed relational database service that supports multiple database engines such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MariaDB. It automates database administration tasks like provisioning, patching, and backups. 5. **Amazon VPC (Virtual Private Cloud)**: Lets you provision a logically isolated section of the AWS Cloud where you can launch AWS resources in a virtual network that you define. You have complete control over your virtual networking environment. 6. **AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management)**: Provides centralized control over AWS account users, roles, and permissions. It enables you to securely manage access to AWS services and resources. 7. **Amazon DynamoDB**: Fully managed NoSQL database service that delivers single-digit millisecond performance at any scale. It is highly available, durable, and supports both document and key-value data models. 8. **Amazon SNS (Simple Notification Service)**: Pub/Sub messaging service that enables you to send messages or notifications to distributed systems, microservices, or mobile devices. It supports push notifications, SMS, email, and more. 9. **Amazon SQS (Simple Queue Service)**: Fully managed message queuing service that enables you to decouple and scale microservices, distributed systems, and serverless applications. It ensures reliable message delivery and allows for fault tolerance. 10. **Amazon CloudWatch**: Monitoring and observability service for AWS resources and applications. It collects and tracks metrics, monitors logs, sets alarms, and automatically reacts to changes in your AWS resources. These are just a selection of AWS's extensive portfolio of services, each designed to address specific use cases and requirements.#awscloud #awsdevops

This is BIG - AWS Aurora Serverless v2 can now scale down to zero making it a "truly serverless offering"!!!!! With this we can keep serverless databases (in particular for test environments) running even when there is no traffic at nights and weekends just like we can with the rest of our Lambda function based system! Now I would just like to see this for all the other so called "serverless" AWS services lacking this like Elastic Search Serverless etc. - go for it AWS and show that "serverless" is no longer just a meaningless marketing term! #aws #cloud #awscloud #cloudecomonics #serverless
