Monday 22 April 2024, 10:08 PM: Day 41 of 100: 59 more to go hey fam! Just finished implementing the Selection Sort algorithm in Python! Selection Sort is a simple sorting algorithm that works by repeatedly finding the minimum element in the unsorted portion of the list and swapping it with the first element of the unsorted portion. It's not the most efficient sorting algorithm out there, but it's a great way to practice working with loops and conditionals. I had a lot of fun working on this project, and it reminded me why I love programming. It's amazing how a few lines of code can turn a jumbled list into a sorted one. 🚀 Day 27 of #100DaysLeetCode 🚀 Today, I tackled the Longest Happy String problem using Python! 🐍 🔍 Problem Overview: A string is called happy if it doesn't contain "aaa", "bbb", or "ccc" as substrings and contains at most the given counts of 'a', 'b', and 'c'. 🔒 Excited to share that I've successfully tackled the Lockboxes problem using Python! 🎉 The Lockboxes problem revolves around determining if all boxes in a collection can be unlocked, given that each box may contain keys to other boxes. Here's a breakdown of my solution: 1. Problem Statement: Given a list of boxes represented as nested lists, where each inner list contains keys to other boxes, the task is to determine if all boxes can be opened, starting with the first unlocked box. 2. Approach Overview: I employed Breadth First Search (BFS) to systematically explore the keys and unlock the boxes. 3. Technical Details: - Utilized Python's collections module, specifically `deque`, for efficient queue operations. - Employed sets to track unlocked boxes and used keys to avoid revisiting already explored paths. 4. Implementation: I encapsulated the solution in a Python function `canUnlockAll(boxes)` which returns `True` if all boxes can be opened, and `False` otherwise. 🚀 Day 17 of my 50-day Advanced Python Mini Projects Challenge is complete! 🎉 Today, I explored the `requests` library documentation and learned how to fetch data using GET requests. I also created a Random Quote widget using the `tkinter` library, which displays random quotes from Kanye West. 🗣️ The `requests` library is a powerful tool for making HTTP requests to fetch data from APIs. While I focused on GET requests today, I plan to work on the rest of the HTTP requests in the future. The `tkinter` library helped me create a simple yet functional GUI to display these quotes. This project enriched my understanding of data fetching and GUI development, and I’m excited to see what the next 33 days will bring. 🚀 Day 43 of #100DaysLeetCode 🚀 Today, I solved the Delete Characters to Make Fancy String problem on LeetCode using Python! 🐍 🔍 Problem Overview: The challenge is to modify a given string so that no three consecutive characters are identical. We need to delete the minimum number of characters to achieve this "fancy" condition. 🛠 Solution Approach: 1. Tracking Consecutive Characters: • As I loop through each character, I keep track of how many consecutive identical characters have appeared. 2. Conditionally Append Characters: • I add each character to the final result only if there aren't already three consecutive identical ones. This ensures that no three characters in a row are the same. 3. I wrote an introduction to working with datetimes in Python! Dealing with time zones and changes in daylight saving time are topics that people have spent tons of time working on! Use that to your advantage and don't reinvent the wheel to figure out how to convert and work with times. That's the main focus of this post. I really like writing these things out because it helps me dig deeper into somewhat basic subjects like working with datetimes. It gives me a good reference that I can look back at and pull examples from in my work. 🚀In Python If, Else and While are control flow statement used to control the execution of code based on conditions. 1) If, Else and Elif(else if): The IF statement checks a condition. The __repr__ Dunder method: Define what's displayed when you print an object. Example. When you create a "list object" in python, you instantiate an object from the list class. Even if you do not provide elements, you still see an empty list being displayed, empty list enclosed by square brackets. > my_list = list( ) # my_list is an object of the list( ) class. > print(my_list) >>> displays >>> [ ] The default "representation" of the displayed results is determined by the __repr__ dunder method within the source code of the list( ) class. Another Example. - An important Data Structure i.e. LinkedList being defined as a custom Class in python, we have defined a __repr__ method to govern its default display setting.
