There are two primary kinds of innovation described by Clayton Christensen: (1) disruptive innovation, and (2) sustaining innovation. It seems to me that while Tesla was the EV disruptive innovator, they're now primarily sustaining, and most are competing there. The new disruptor is Byd Company Limited. Remember: Console radios (RCA) vs. transistor radios (Sony) and Ford/Chevy/Chrysler/Cadillac vs. Toyota Corona. Highend excludes the largest market. Affordable but lesser quality is acceptable to the largest market.

The semiconductor manufacturing industry is experiencing significant growth, thanks to the CHIPS act in Europe and the U.S. However, the EV manufacturing is facing a decline. This raises concerns about the potential impact on the semiconductor industry. When and how will this impact be felt? Or is it already here? https://lnkd.in/duY47PKe

Apple ending its quest for electric vehicle is surprising news, it has so many implications towards the industry and its future outlook, personally I have never been completely sold on pure electric vehicles, not because of going electric but for the simple fact that the battery and charging infrastructure is not advanced enough to replace existing vehicles. Along with Toyota's recent announcement to develop hydrogen powered motor technology, it's really fascinating to see how the EV development will eventually turn out. https://lnkd.in/g2JW5vug

Semiconductors are integral to modern cars, powering everything from engine control and driver assistance systems to infotainment. An electric Audi today contains up to 8,000 semiconductors, making these essential chips a critical component of automotive innovation. Audi, alongside the Volkswagen Group and microelectronics leaders, is shaping the future of mobility. This commitment was showcased at the third Semiconductor Summit, themed “Innovation needs Coopetition.” Semiconductors are becoming the neurons of our cars. #Innovation #Automotive #Semiconductors #Audi #Volkswagen #FutureMobility #AudiDubai

While watching CNBC this morning it is obvious to the markets and probably the World that the election is swinging wildly in favor of Trum/Vance. This means the EV market will be under major attack as subsidies will not increase and will be cut. Trump and Vance do not want move to benefit China’s lithium batteries. As Mary Bara the CEO of GM spoke you can see her retrenchment back to the car is the next big information platform the way the iPhone became that way after 2007 ! She said buy EV because of it. Gm will need a tech that ties the telematics in their gas powered and hybrid cars with AI. There are only two companies with commercial tech that can do that. Tesla which will not share and Roadzen RDZN. I believe people will find this only $230 mill market cap company winning retrofit contracts for its DriveBuddy tech . This will explode the sales of this tech as fleets, OEM’s like GM, F and Stellantis install their product as well as the others. You are looking at the android system for cars. Their computervision and AI will make them useful to robot companies as well.

I know which one I’d acquire…and I’d imagine Marques Brownlee would be in agreement with me. As to why a tech company might buy into the EV story - in a word - the battery! An as yet nascent part of the rEVolution looks like being energy arbitrage. And as energy is the essential feedstock for AI, Data Centres, and almost everything else in the modern connected world - those that can ‘manage’ and ‘control’ the juice…will run the show! Timing. It’s always the key hasn’t it! And the timing for M&A between established, cash rich, tech companies and EV Outliers has never been better! Pure speculation on my part, but the recent abrupt dispatch of the Apple Car might well have been about clearing a space. A VERY important space for a new ‘device’. Turn a woe into a spectacular opportunity I say! #automotive #siliconvalley #renewableenergy #electricvehicles https://lnkd.in/eaFUaaZH
