NAMEM members are being offered the opportunity to attend a Strengthify Health & Social Care Discovery Workshop on the7 May 2025.
Strengthify works with you, utilising our own Strengthify framework, providing regular events, training and consultancy to grow and nurture your own strengths-based culture.
We apply positive psychology through proven methodologies to understand and leverage what individuals enjoy and help them focus on where they can excel.
Armed with this knowledge, we empower managers to help change how people perceive themselves and how others perceive them.
We help cultivate and support an environment where managers have the knowledge, skills and tools to effectively engage and develop each member of their team. Helping individuals, teams, and entire organisations to thrive.
We focus on delivering positive outcomes, guiding you to raise performance levels, reducing stress, and achieving greater job satisfaction.
We believe in creating and supporting a sustainable long-term impact through our approach, combining evidence, best practice and our substantial industry experience to support your needs. We know that one-off interventions are very unlikely to achieve improvements, so our engagement with organisations and individual managers is, therefore, very much an ongoing journey.
If you are interested in attending a FREE Discovery workshop Strengthify — Harnessing your strengths on 7th May 2025, Location is EC3M 1AE (Monument, London) facilitated by Holger Bollmann, Founder.

Greetings Educators,
The past few weeks, I have had a ton of requests for 1-on-1 consultations. Folks interested in personalized support to help them problem-solve something they were facing in the classroom as it relates to understanding and dealing with trauma. As a proud graduate of William Paterson University and with over 17 years of early childhood education experience, I’m excited to share all the insights, strategies and resources I have cultivated with my colleagues. In light of this, I have decided to offer a limited number of 10 1-on-1 strategy sessions!
During a strategy session we take a deep dive into a topic you identify. We can spend the strategy session:
-Building Resilience in Young Learners: Teaching Coping Skills and Stress Management Techniques
-Incorporating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Early Childhood Education: -Promoting Cultural Competence and Anti-Bias Practices
-Fostering Social-Emotional Learning: Strategies for Promoting Emotional Regulation, Empathy, and Relationship Skills
-Discussing trauma-sensitive communication and mapping out effective ways to communicate with traumatized children, including active listening and validating emotions.
-Discussing how to empower families by providing resources, support, and advocacy to empower Black and Brown families in navigating trauma and accessing community services.
These are just a few of many ideas of how we can spend our time! The key is that you are clear on what you want to get out of the session as I will show up ready to follow your direction!
I wanted to offer this opportunity to you first. I am only opening 10 slots between April 29th and June 29th for strategy sessions.
The investment is $150 per session. You can click here https://lnkd.in/eEB7XgaG to book your session.
If you have any questions about the strategy session, just reply to this email!!
I can’t wait to connect with you in a strategy session!
Sincerely,
Felicia Pettiford

Activities:
- Further discussion of our goals and giving more define role.
-Discussion on where and when we will conduct our event.
Reflection:
The realization that there is more to discuss and that proper planning is required. We have a vague idea on where we wanted to conduct the event but we need to discuss more on it.
On the most recent Dad Strength call, we shared our practices for long-term health — and described our own role models.
Exercise was, of course, discussed. However, the primary topic was relationships. We talked about how building relationships — both 1-1 and through community — is top-tier stuff. We also realized that men often experience a lot of resistance to doing this. The snake may be devouring its own tail.
What do we do here? Perhaps it starts just by noticing your own internal response to these prompts:
* Check in with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while
* Find a group oriented around an activity you’re interested in (biking, art, boccie ball, etc)
* Make someone feel welcome in a group you’re already a part of
Going through this list, did things feel like an automatic yes? Or did something pop up to block immediate action. If so, what's that about?
Curious about what joining the Dad Strength community is like? Would it be good to talk things out? Book a time to learn more.

Have you been out for a walk yet today?
Rain or shine, North Bay native Robert Herman hasn’t missed an opportunity for a stroll in the last four and a half years.
As someone with a rare genetic degenerative eye disease, walking every day has highlighted the physical, verbal, and emotional barriers that continue to persist today. From the lack of sidewalk maintenance to the limited understanding and compassion of passersby—Robert takes every chance to educate and advocate for people who are blind, Deafblind, or who have low vision.
As part of CNIB’s 5-year strategic plan #TheWayForward, we’re working with leaders like Robert to dispel misconceptions and change attitudes around what it means to be blind or have low vision.
Learn more at cnibthewayforward.ca and re-share this post to spread awareness.

How can we prepare ourselves & kids for greatness in this “new world”? Perhaps we need to UPGRADE our human Operating System!
That’s exactly what Andrew Abela, Dean of Busch School of Business & affiliate Professor at Harvard has been building, studying, & writing, teaching & speaking about — & THE TIME IS NOW! An individual upgrade can help anyone, but a collective upgrade will help us ALL.
I was honored to be quoted by Andrew in his recent article in Forbes entitled “Upgrading Employees’ Human Operating System — an awesome (short) read & great introduction to Andrew’s work. If you’re inclined to learn about it, I’m confident you’ll find it to be several minutes well invested; check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dDgvbrhn.
As an American, watching these young children in China training is both inspirational & unnerving. The coordination, communication, teamwork, precision & muscle memory they’re building is undeniably amazing, but I do note that the kids don’t seem to be enjoying themselves, I wonder how many actually are desirous of pursuing a career in basketball, & it’s certainly a level on conformity we don’t see or inherently promote here, stateside.
As we ponder a new OS for humanity, it’s important that we view it from all perspectives, & through all lenses.
This is why I’m so impressed by Andrew & his work (with the New Human Operating Sydtem, his Extreme Presentation™️ method and his book entitled ‘Superhabits’). If you don’t know Andrew yet, I encourage you to follow him here on LinkedIn to stay abreast on his work, which is at the intersection of some of what I’ve been working on as well.
I applaud you, Andrew, thanks for the powerful work you’re doing!

Empowering Growth and Healing as Practice Owner, Clinician, and Therapeutic Trainer at KAIROS Counselings. (formerly known as Beacon of Hope Counseling)
Building Confidence While Working Toward Licensure
If you’re working toward licensure, you know how crucial supervision is during this stage. At Beacon of Hope Counseling, our pre-licensed clinicians gain the tools and support they need to feel confident and prepared. Now, through the Somatic Integration Institute by Kairos Counselings, we’re extending this support to clinicians and students beyond our practice.
Group supervision during this time provides:
➡ Exposure to diverse clinical situations.
➡ Opportunities to refine skills like case conceptualization.
➡ A supportive environment to build confidence and competence.
If you’re navigating the path to licensure, consider how a structured and collaborative supervision program can elevate your growth.

WTH... Why to How
The Significance of Understanding the 'Why' Behind Ideas
We discuss the importance of understanding the 'why' behind ideas, and how a 'why' is often more like a hypothesis in the scientific world rather than something tangible that can be easily touched or experienced.
