Amazon Route 53 - Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) web service by AWS, acting as a traffic manager for the internet. - It translates domain names into IP addresses, offers routing policies to direct traffic, performs health checks on resources, and operates on a global network for reliable DNS resolution worldwide. - It simplifies domain registration, DNS management, and traffic routing for websites and applications, ensuring efficient access to resources on the internet. - Here is the basic pattern that Amazon Route 53 follows when a user initiates a DNS request. - The DNS resolver checks with your domain in Route 53, gets the IP address, and returns it to the user. #AWS #awscloudcomputing #cloudcomputing #amazonroute53 #datascience

Today I've learnt how to: 🚷 Create a private subnet: I created a new subnet and set its CIDR block to avoid an overlap with my public subnet. 🚧 Create a private route table: I also made this subnet private by assigning it to a dedicated route table that doesn't route traffic to an internet gateway! 🚔 Create a private network ACL: Then, I set up custom network ACLs to control inbound and outbound traffic for this private subnet - denying all traffic by default. Thanks to the NextWork community for this exciting AWS Cloud Networking project. Also thanks to Natasha Ong & Maximus Soares. #AmazonVPC #AmazonNACL #Networking

A standout session from Day 2 at re:Invent was “Optimizing Workloads for Speed and Cost Using Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate” by Rachel Leekin and Praveen Edem. Some key tips included: ☑️ Save 30-70% by right-sizing tasks with AWS Compute Optimizer and using Compute Savings Plans. ☑️ Boost performance and reduce costs with Graviton instances and AWS Fargate Spot. ☑️ Optimize auto-scaling with the new predictive scaling feature. ☑️ Minimize container image sizes for better efficiency. ☑️ Use SOCI (Seekable OCI) to speed up image pulls with lazy loading. If you couldn't attend this session, check out our article, by Dennis Ruzeski, for more insights: https://lnkd.in/giKBS9Cd #ippontech #reinvent2024 #amazonecs #costsavings #performanceoptimization

One of the highlights from Day 2, which packed with great sessions, was the talk on “Optimizing Workloads for Speed and Cost Using Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate” by Rachel Leekin and Praveen Edem. This session was super informative and covered a bunch of practical tips, including: - Using AWS Compute Optimizer to right-size ECS tasks on Fargate, which can save you anywhere from 30-70% - Why Compute Savings Plans are a no-brainer for keeping costs down - The perks of Graviton instances and why staying on top of version upgrades is worth it - How AWS Fargate Spot is a budget-friendly option if you’re okay with occasional interruptions - Fine-tuning auto-scaling policies to get the most out of them, including the cool new predictive scaling feature for ECS - Why container image size matters for both cost and performance, plus tips on keeping them lean by splitting build and runtime needs and ditching unnecessary libraries - How SOCI (Seekable OCI) speeds up image pull times with lazy loading—though it’s worth noting it’s not the same as caching If you would like to learn Ippon’s own take on the optimization of Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate for speed and costs, take a look at a blog from our Head of Cloud, Dennis Ruzeski: https://lnkd.in/giKBS9Cd #ippontech #reinvent2024 #amazonecs #costsavings #performanceoptimization #ecs

Couple of weeks ago there was a huge storm on how AWS charged a user for unauthorized requests to his S3 bucket. 👉🏻The article : https://lnkd.in/dmw5MsxC 🌟Thanks to Jeff Barr and the team for addressing the issue and taking a quick action on the same : 🌟Amazon S3 will no longer charge for several HTTP error codes. https://lnkd.in/dGzSrHNd #AWS #cloudcomputing #S3

Amazon OpenSearch Serverless is enhancing access controls for VPC endpoints. With this feature, administrators can attach endpoint policies to control which AWS principals are allowed or denied access to the OpenSearch resources through their VPC endpoint(s). With a VPC endpoint policy, users can also combine actions along with AWS principals and resources to have finer control on the allowing or denying the traffic through their VPC endpoint(s).

AWS Project-06:I just completed an AWS networking project where I: 👇 ✅ Set up a route table to direct traffic from my resources through an Internet Gateway, making my subnet public and enabling web access. ✅ Added a security group to manage who can access my resources at a resource level, learning ports and protocols along the way. ✅ Created Network ACLs to control all traffic coming in and out on a subnet level, and learnt about data packets as a part of this journey. #AWS #CloudSecurity #Networking #AmazonVPC
