So what was the problem that he had?

Line of Sight – Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn never wore glasses and could not see the catcher clearly. He could throw extremely hard but without having a clear line of sight to the end result (glove) then he was unable to put the ball near the plate. If he wanted to throw a strike, he would have to slow down and then the batter would crush the ball, and his team would lose the game. Once his manager found out, he was fitted with glasses and helped the Indians win an important 1 game playoff against the Yankees.

Relate this to Sales.

Anytime you are working with a customer remember that it is not only important to see their immediate needs but also what the end result is! If you just throw what you think a customer needs the competition can just knock it out of the park! If you do not have a clear Line Of Sight into the customers future needs then your solutions will be all over the place or "just a bit outside!"  If you do have line of sight into the customers current and future needs then you will continue to throw strikes which will help you win the game, series, and championship!!!

Do you have a line of sight into the customers you are working with?
