The 2025 Quantum Readiness Index from the IBM Institute for Business Value is now live: https://ibm.co/6042BlKce Based on a survey representing 750 C-suite executives across 28 countries and 14 industries, the new report maps where organizations stand on the quantum readiness spectrum, what defines a quantum-ready enterprise today, and the actions needed to advance, revealing both progress and persistent gaps: 🟣 Quantum computing now captures 11% of R&D budgets on average—up from 7% in 2023—but commitment varies significantly by sector, suggesting uneven recognition of quantum’s strategic impact. 🔵 While organizational readiness has advanced since 2023, challenges remain. Across the board, organizations are dealing with inadequate quantum skills (61%), immature technology (56%) and unclear use case timelines (46%). What does 2026 look like? In some ways, not so different from the last eight years we’ve been publishing our IBM Institute for Business Value Five Trends report – the 2026 edition launched today. What’s the same? Transformation and talent. It’s time to stop thinking of these as temporary challenges and start seeing them as persistent opportunities. Next year, transformation will be driven by #uncertainty – those who embrace it will excel. And people are rising to the #AI challenge. Execs seem to think their #employees are overwhelmed, but 77% of workers say they are managing new processes and technologies just fine. Do you know how your team feels? We’ve seen the importance of ecosystems show up consistently over the past few years as well. This year it’s about partnering to prepare for quantum advantage – the point when quantum can outperform classical computers, which means commercialization isn’t far behind. Most leaders haven’t yet started thinking about quantum’s impact – have you? What’s different in 2026? AI accountability and data sovereignty. Consumers tell us they are so eager to embrace AI-enabled services, they’ll accept missteps. But if they feel deceived, two-thirds say they’ll switch brands. And what about data? Changing regulations and trade volatility are keeping execs up at night. 50% are worried about overdependance on one region for compute resources, so they’re mapping the best locations to enable control no matter what happens. The trends: Trend 1: Uncertainty will be your greatest asset – if you embrace it. Trend 2: Employees will want more AI – not less Trend 3: Customers will hold your AI accountable Trend 4: Global AI resilience will require a local safety net Trend 5: Quantum advantage will demand strength in numbers Download the report here: https://lnkd.in/gPsZfVXW #2026Trends #Volatility #Talent #Transformation #AI #AIResilience #AISovereignty #Quantum #QuantumAdvantage Nick Otto, Francesco Brenna, Caroline Roche, Óscar González Nogueira, Keita Fujimori, Helle Valentin, Sebastian Weir, Kush Varshney, David Trager, Jamie Mackenzie, Heather Higgins, Joe Dittmar, Jennifer Quinlan, @Krishna Ramos Souza de Queiroz, James J.
