This website is a public service made possible by the newspapers of Illinois at no additional cost to taxpayers. PublicNoticeIllinois.com (PNI) was first launched in August 2008 as a central repository for all public notices in Illinois. It was redesigned and relaunched in 2011 with updated functionality and search capabilities. Per a state law that passed unanimously in 2011, the purpose of this website is to make available to the public every notice that appears in an Illinois newspaper.
PNI is a free-access website designed to reach an expanded audience of citizens who want to know more about the actions of the more than 7,000 units of local, county and state government in Illinois and, also, about our local and state court systems.
Public notices are a critical part of proven legal process where notification of actions or pending actions by units of local government, or the courts, are provided to citizens and taxpayers. They are required to be published in local newspapers, which serve as an independent third-party in this legal process.
Email notification option for those who routinely search public notices, need to save search criteria, print multiple notices simultaneously, or receive automatic search results daily.
