Introduction

Why am I recommending a FREE blog site instead of WordPress (the king of

blogs) or some other blogging software that you install on your site and
maintain yourself, you may be wondering. There are a number of reasons.
First and foremost, Blogger SAVES you TIME !!! which is a resource we
internet marketers and netpreneurs never seem to have enough of. Just this
one advantage is worth thousands of dollars.

Second, Blogger is owned and operated by Google, which you probably know,
owns Adsense. Blogger is already set up to help users make money with
AdSense. But it doesn’t just limit you to Adsense. You can utilize other
avenues of income streams as well.

Third, there is a very, very shallow learning curve with Blogger. You don’t
need any technical, programming or scripting skills. Actually, you don’t need
to know much at all. Every step of the process of creating your blog is simple
and automated. If you can click buttons, you can create a blog.

You can create your blog, add your income streams, and write your content
in less than ten minutes, and then that’s it… No time-consuming designing,
formatting, or anything else. Set it up, and go. It’s that simple. The drawback
is that you only have so much control over the design/layout of your blog,
and a limited amount of features.

I know that when I read a report or ebook I want to get to the meat, to the
good stuff. I hate having to read through all kinds of theories, explanations,
and boring stories. So I’m going to get right to the information you bought
this report for.

Let’s start creating a money-making website shall we?

Setting Up Your Blogger Account

Step 1

If you don't have a Blogger account, go to http://www.blogger.com and sign

up for one. It’s free, of course, and you can use the same account to set up
as many blogs as you like.

Step 2

Click on the orange arrow to create your account. You’ll be taken to the
'Name Your Blog' page. Fill in the information then click on the continue
arrow. Just ignore the 'Advanced Blog Setup' link.

Here you'll need to come up with a name for your blog. Be creative, but
sensible. You want to make money with this blog so try to come up with a
good name for it. If you use a simple yet descriptive title, you’ll get more
traffic from search engines. However, still try to keep it smooth and
attractive.

Take the time to read the Terms of Service Agreement. Then check the little
box and you’re done setting up your new account.

Click ‘continue’ to begin the design process.

Step 3

You’ve now created your first Blogger blog. Click on the 'continue' arrow.
You’ll be taken to the template page.
Step 4

Now you’ll need to choose the template for your blog. At this point there
aren’t that many design choices, but don’t fret, you can change your
template at a later time. You also have the option of creating a custom
template. But if you don’t really now how to work with html, or you don’t
want to spend the time, the standard templates are just fine.

Pick a template that you like by selecting the little circle.

Once you’ve chosen your template, you’re done the basic design work.
Blogger will create your blog for you. It doesn’t get any easier.

Step 5

Now you’re ready to start posting. Click on the ‘Start Posting’ arrow and
create your first post. I would suggest you create a welcome or introduction
post. You shouldn’t use the first post to introduce yourself, but rather to
introduce the subject of your blog. Your ‘Profile’ has all of your personal
information.
One of the primary reasons I prefer to use Blogger.com rather than, say,
Wordpress.com, is that you can easily add Java script and html to your
posts. If you want to include a banner or some java code, all you need to do
is choose the ‘Edit Html’ tab. You can then create your post in html.
However, if you prefer, you can (and most people do) simply use the
‘Compose’ option which is a ‘what-you-see-is-what-you-get’ html editor.

You can add colour, change text, and even add pictures and video to your
posts. The options are somewhat limited, but there are enough to add some
flair and originality to your posts.
An important element when adding a post is to write good tags (keywords).
At the bottom of each post window; there is a blank bar for this. This is
where you add your tags. Make sure you do this for every post you make. It
will help increase your search engine ranking.

Now that you have your blog set up and your first post finished, it’s time to
begin adding the elements that are going to make you money.

Adding Money Making Elements

We’re going to add the following income streams to your blog in the steps
below:

Adsense
WidgetBucks
Niche Widget
NewsRoom

You should still be logged into your Blogger account. But if you’re not, log in.
On your dashboard page, click on the ‘Layout’ link. You’ll be taken to the
'Template Editing' page (below).

Click on the 'Templates' tab, and the following screen will come up. Here’s
where you add your java scripts for your income streams.
There are a number of links for adding a new page element. We’re going to
place our ads in different areas in order to maximize results.

Once you choose to add an element, a new window will pop up. Here you’ll
choose which elements you want to add. We’re going to start with Adsense.
First Income Stream: Adsense

As I mentioned before, Blogger.com is a Google site. Therefore, you can easily

add Adsense ads to your blog with just a couple clicks.

If you don’t have a Google/Adsense account, you’ll need to get one before
proceeding with the element insertions. You can get an Adsense account
here:

The first time you add an Adsense element, you’ll be directed to your Google
account and you'll then receive an email requesting you authorize permission
for Blogger.com to be allowed to use Adsense. This will only have to be done
once.

Next Income Stream: WidgetBucks

If you don’t belong to WidgetBucks, sign up for a free account. Their ads
don’t conflict with Google/Adsense’s terms and conditions. You can get your
free WidgetBucks account here.
With WidgetBucks, the minimum requirement for payment is only $25 and
you can receive payment via PayPal or cheque.

While you’re still logged into Blogger, go to WidgetBucks and create a new
widget.

Click on the 'New Widget' tab at the top of the page. You’ll first need to
choose a title for your widget. This can simply be the name of your blog, or
some shorter version of it. Then you’ll need to fill your web/blog address in,
in the next bar. In the next section, where you’re to choose a site, choose
'blog.' You’re then ready to choose what type of ads you want to display. You
can choose a specific category or you can let WidgetBucks Spider choose the
best ads for you. This is the option I always choose because it gives me a
greater range of products.
Before you click on the 'Update Your Widget Code' button, choose the colour
you want for you widget. Try to pick one that complements your blog’s
template. Once you’ve chosen your colour you’re ready to generate your
code. Click on the Blogger button.
WidgetBucks will automatically add your widget (ad box) to your blog. You
don’t have to do anything else. You’re now done. You can change the
appearance of the widget at any time you like.

Next Income Stream: Niche Widget

The next income source we’re going to add is Niche Widget. So let’s get it
done.

Sign up for your free Niche Widget account here. This is a brand new
program that looks like it's going to be a real winner. You're going to start
the process the same way you did for Adsense and WidgetBucks.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to get to the signup link.
Once you've created your Niche Widget account, you'll be ready to create
your first widget. Click on the "Add Widget" link at the top of the page. You'll
be taken to the page shown above. It's really, really easy to create a widget.
Choose a name and description for the widget. Select the type of ads you
want to promote, the size of the ad box, and then click "Build Widget."
Select the code the shows up in the box (ctr+c). I always paste the code into
a notepad file and save it. This way I don't accidentally copy something else
and lose the code.

Now either log back into Blogger, or select the window and choose the either
the template link in your dashboard or at the top of the window. Click on the
"add page element" on the right side of the page.

Choose HTML/JavaScript element. In the window that pops up, paste your
Niche Widget code into the box, click 'Add Element' and you’re done.

Optional Income Stream: NewsRoom

NewsRoom is another great source of income for bloggers because it doesn’t

require clicks or clickthrus. You simply paste some code into your post/s
and either a video or text feed will show up on your blog. For every view of
these videos or text reports, you earn a commission. You can sign up for
your free account here.

Once you've joined, log into your account and choose any categories that
relate to your blog or that interest you.

There are 4 options to display the ads on your blog.

1) Video feed
2) Video Story
3) Text Story
4) Images

It’s very easy to add your code to your blog/post. You use the
html/JavaScript element option to create the post. That’s it.

Adding Links

If you have other blogs or websites, or whatever, you can add their links
here. It’s very simple. Give your Links section a title, such as Great Places to
Visit (this is very week so don’t actually use it).

You can add as many links as you want. AND you can even sell space for
others’ links.

Voila, you’re all done. You now have a money generating blog, and it only
took you a few minutes. Now you can create as many blogs as your little
heart desires.
What Next?

Once you have an established blog with a regular readership, it’s easy to
turn a profit through your advertising efforts. As your readership increases,
you can begin selling ad space to advertisers. This will add yet another
source of revenue for you.

The amount of money that you can make as a blogger depends on a number
of different factors, but perhaps the most important element of the equation
is the topic of your blog. If your blog is on a subject that appeals to a large
demographic and a demographic that advertisers have a strong desire to
reach, you will be more likely to make a lot of money with your blog.

Okay, so now you have a great blog all set up… But who else besides
yourself and your family and friends knows about it? If you want to make
money, you need other people to see it, and lots of them. The more visitors,
the more opportunity to earn! So you need to get the word out and show off
your new creation.

Promote, Promote, Promote

For better income results, you need to actively promote your blog/s as much
as possible and in as many ways as possible.
Directories

Blog search sites and directories are a great free option for promotion and for
gaining links to your blog. Here are a few resources to get you started. You
can always find tons more by visiting Google, or any other search engine,
and searching for 'blog directories.'

es/

Search Engines

To get exposure in the search engines, and especially Google, ensure that
your blog contains exclusive and valuable information and that it’s
kept updated. Not only is this good for your search engine ranking, but it’ll
keep readers popping in and reading your blog.

RSS

The Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds are important too in conjunction
with your blogs to get the best benefits. Use effective keyword phrases to
generate high ranking status in the search engine traffic. In this way you
have better chances of people finding your website leading to your blogs.
More traffic means more potential sales.

Thankfully, Blogger automatically submits your blog to Atom (a blog

directory) when you create a post. Of course, if you’re familiar with RSS, you
can add additional feeds to your blog.

Blog Rush

Blog Rush is a blog syndicating network. You add a widget to your site that
promotes other blogs, and your blog gets promoted on other sites throughout
the network. They have very strict guidelines for approving blogs for the
network, so if your blog doesn’t provide useful information, it won’t be
included.

You can get a free BlogRush account here.

You add the java code to your blog the same way you added the Niche
Widget code; through the “Add and Arrange Page Elements” function. Click
on Add HTML/JavaScript and paste your code. That’s all there is to it.
Zion5

A great new resource for promoting your blog is Zion5. Zion5 is a social
network with a twist. It’s a home for all us online money makers to build
contacts, share ideas and research websites. From beginners to
professionals everyone can earn money online, anyone can join because it's
completely FREE.

You can join Zion5 here.

The focus of this report is not on getting traffic to your blog, however, I have
included a great (free) ebook that will help you out with traffic generation.

Tips for a Better Blog

Study blog design. Blog hosting services provide pre-designed templates. But
as I mentioned, with Blogger, you have the option of designing your own
blog. You can also use the 'Edit Html" option to match your company or
other sites' identity as well.

Choose a topic. It’s good to have a line-up of topics you want for your blog/s
but be sure they are consistent with your business objectives.

Remember the following safety measures in blogging:

legal issues are sometimes involved in blogging; it is safer to include

disclaimers and limitations of liabilities;

corporate communications and legal departments are responsible for

educating the senior management on how blogs might affect business;

create blogging policies; set limits on who gets to blog and what
information is allowed to be made public;

avoid outright marketing on your blog or you will scare away your
readers (unless, of course, this is the type of blog you created).

make sure your content is updated, relevant and fresh;

Strive to be consistent with your topic all the time.

Schedule updates regularly. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday would be

best to update blogs.

What Kind of Blogger Will You Be?

As I'm sure you're aware, a blog is a website that 'publishes' or features

articles (which are called 'blog posts', 'posts', or 'entries'), written by an
individual or a group that makes use of any or a combination of the
following:

Straight texts
Photographs or images (photoblog)
Video (videoblog)
Audio files (audioblog)
Hyperlinks

Usually presented and arranged in reverse chronological order, blogs are

essentially used for the following purposes:

Online journal or a web diary

As a content management system
Online publishing platform

There are numerous types of blogs. Some of them are the following:

1. Political blog - on news, politics, activism, and other issue based

blogs (such as campaigning).

2. Personal blog - also known as online diary that may include an

individual's day-to-day experiences, complaints, poems, and illicit
thoughts, and communications between friends.

3. Topical blog - with focus either on a particular niche (function or

position) that is usually technical in nature or local in focus.

4. Health blog - on specific health issues. Medical blog is a major

category of health blog that features medical news from health care
professionals and/or actual patient cases.

5. Literary blog - also known as litblog.

6. Travel blog - with focus on a traveler's stories on a particular journey.

7. Research blog - on academic issues such as research notes.

8. Legal blog - on law (technical areas) and legal affairs; also known as
'blawgs'.

9. Media blog - focus on falsehoods or inconsistencies in mass media;

usually exclusive for a newspaper or a television network.

10. Religious blog - on religious topics

11. Educational blog - on educational applications, usually written by

students and teachers.

12. Collaborative or collective blog - a specific topic written by a group of

people.

13. Directory blog - contains a collection of numerous web sites.

14. Business blog - used by entrepreneurs and corporate employees to

promote their businesses or talk about their work.

15. Personification blog - focus on non-human beings or objects (such

as dogs).
16. Spam blogs - used for promoting affiliated websites; also known as
'splogs'.

Blogging is typically done on a regular (almost daily) basis. The term

"blogging" refers to the act of authoring, maintaining, or adding an article to
an existing blog, while the term "blogger" refers to a person or a group who
keeps a blog.

Today, more than 5 million blogs can be found on the Internet. This figure is
continuously growing, as the availability of various blog software, tools, and
other applications make it easier for just about anyone to update or
maintain a blog (even those with little or no technical background). Because
of this trend, bloggers can now be categorized into 4 main types:

1. Personal bloggers - people who focus on a diary or on any topic that an

individual feels strongly about.

2. Business bloggers - people who focus on promoting products and

services.

3. Organizational bloggers - people who focus on internal or external

communication in an organization or a community.

4. Professional bloggers - people who are hired or earn an income from

blogging.

Pro-blogging (professional blogging) refers to blogging for a profit.

Pro-bloggers are people who make money from blogging (as an individual
blog publisher or a hired blogger). You are now a pro-blogger

Below are just some of the other money-making opportunities for

pro-bloggers:

Advertising programs
RSS advertising
Sponsorship
Affiliate Programs
Digital assets
Blog network writing gigs
Business blog writing gigs
Non-blogging writing gigs
Donations
Flipping blogs
Merchandising
Consulting and speaking
The following are a few things that you need to consider if you want to be
successful in pro-blogging:

1. Be patient. Pro-blogging requires a lot of time and effort, not to

mention a long-term vision.

2. Know your audience. Targeting a specific audience or group is a key

to building a readership.

3. Be an 'expert'. Focus on a specific niche topic and strive to be the

"go-to" blogger on that topic.

4. Diversify. Experiment with various ad and affiliate programs that

enable you to make money online (aside from blogging).

5. Don't bore your readers. Focus on the layout. White spaces, line
spacing, and bigger fonts make a blog welcoming to read.

Ad Placement - How and Where to Place Your Ads on Your

Blog

In making money with blogs, there is one element that trumps all the rest in
importance (with the exception of topic); advertisement placement. The
actual spot where you put your ad is as important to your profits as any
other thing you do with your blog. The most successful people that blog for
profit utilize special placement for their advertisements so as to best get
results from the site visitor, and from experience I can tell you this works
like a charm.

Putting your ads at the top of the blog isn’t good enough anymore. Many
people have been using computers long enough to train themselves to ignore
the ad banners at the top of a website, or blog, and thus you, the publisher,
must find new, and unique ways to get the ads read, and clicked on by your
visitors.

One place to put the ads for your blog is directly to the right hand side of the
daily blog post. Research shows that the human eyes tend to gravitate to the
upper right hand side of any page, which is where your ads should be in
order to obtain maximum exposure. The more the ad is put in this spot, the
better rate of clicks that you will get on the ad.

Another great place to put your ad/s is in the body of the text. This is
commonly done by highlighting, and adding hyperlinks to some of the more
popular keywords. By adding such keywords one can simply click on the
highlighted word to learn more about a product, or service you might be
promoting. Text ads should never be so big as to disrupt the text, however,
they can pack a serious punch in terms of sales because of the natural
curiosity of the reader to check out whatever it is you are promoting.

Finally you can place ads at the bottom of the blog, with more information
about your other sites, affiliate links, etc.

Planning Ahead

If (when) your blog attracts a large readership, you may want to consider
moving your site. Many people feel that being hosted by a free blogging web
site gives a blog a kind of amateur flavor that is fine for a new member of the
blogosphere, but is not appropriate for a high-profile blog. This, of course, is
a matter of opinion. I don’t see it that way, but some marketers do.

Having your own domain can help you make your blog feel professional, and
finding a company that will host your domain isn't difficult or expensive. The
hosting company I use, and have been with for five years is great. They’re
support team is extremely responsive and helpful. And I haven’t yet seen a
better plan for the price. You get unlimited hosting for just $3.95 a month.

And, of course, the longer you maintain your blog, the more content you're
going to need.

Keeping Your Blog Fresh

You’re going to need hordes of content to keep your blog fresh. As time goes
on, this is going to become harder and harder. But, there is help.

Article directories are a fantastic place to find content. You’ll find articles on
just about any topic you can think of, and you are free to use them so long
as the author’s resource box remains intact.
