Big Bang
The first 1

that made the universe.

Something smaller than a 2

blew up making matter energy and everything

you see.
Made the 3

. In a fraction of a second, the Universe grew from smaller

than a single atom to bigger than a galaxy. And it kept on growing at a fantastic rate. It is
still expanding today.
Black Holes
A place in space where theres enough 4

to pull Planets,

Suns, Galaxies, and light itself.

You cant see these because it sucking light in.
Black holes can be big or small. Scientists think the smallest black holes are as small as just
one atom. These black holes are very tiny but have the 5

of a large mountain.

Another kind of black hole is called "stellar." Its mass can be up to 20 times more than the
mass of the sun. There may be many, many stellar mass black holes in Earth's galaxy.
The largest black holes are called "6

." These black holes have masses

that are more than 1 million suns together. Scientists have found proof that every large
galaxy contains a supermassive black hole at its center.

Stars
Stars are a hot ball of heat and energy because of Fusion.
Though the most familiar star our own sun stands alone, about three of every four stars exist
as part of a binary system containing two 7

stars. No one knows how

many stars exist, but the number would be staggering. Our universe likely contains more
than 100 billion galaxies. Some stars have always stood out from the rest. Their 8
is a factor of how much energy they put out, which is called their luminosity, and also how
far away from Earth they are.

Galaxys
A galaxy is a huge 9

of gas, dust, and of stars and their solar systems. A

galaxy is held together by gravity and dark matter.

Some galaxies are spiral-shaped like ours. They have curved arms that make it look like a
pinwheel. Other galaxies are smooth and oval shaped. Theyre called elliptical galaxies. And
there are also galaxies that arent spirals or ovals. They have irregular shapes and look like
blobs.

Planets
There are 8 planets in our solar system, they are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. With the exception of Neptune and Uranus the other 6 planets
can be seen unaided and all 8 are visible with a small telescope or binoculars.
There are 4 rocky planets and 4 gas planets.
The 10

of the early solar system explains why the inner planets are

rocky and the outer ones are gaseous.
