THE SYSTEM WORKS IN TWO DIFFERENT WAYS DEPENDING ON THE SENDER MODALITY (ULTRASOUND OR THE OTHER REST OF MODALITIES)
US MODALITY
Dicom Store
Post Script
The physician ends the study and sends a Dicom Store whit the images he wants to print to the X-med printer server. X-med printer server is configure to print 6 images in each books pages and to look for the patient report in the patient reports database. The search of the patient report is done according to the Accession number received on the Dicom Store. Accession number has to have a certain pattern ,e.g. (name^^surename^^ID)
CT, RM, CR, PACS, WORKSTATION
Dicom Store
Post Script
Printing Manager
Dicom Print
From either CT, RM, CR, PACS or WORKSTATION the Physician opens the printer manager, decides what and how he wants to print and sends a Dicom Print to the server. (Notice that Dicom Print doesnt have Dicom Tags related to Patient Data) X-med printer server holds the Dicom Print in the printing queue until a Dicom Store is sent from the same modality in order to identify the images with the report (Identifying) Once the Dicom Store is received the report is attached to the images and the printing job is sent to the printer. X-med printer server manages different AETitles, one for each modality in the Hospital/Clinic, so it can be set different printing properties for each modality (LUT).
