Experiment 2 Title Transient Analysis Objectives: Ec 302 Electronic Computer Aided Design

This document outlines an experiment on transient analysis. The objectives are to understand the concept of transient analysis, know the steps to perform it, and simulate circuits using it. Transient analysis is used to plot voltages and currents over time, similar to an oscilloscope. The procedure demonstrates how to create and simulate a circuit using transient analysis in Orcad software, including setting the analysis type and run time, plotting the results, and previewing the simulation. Students are asked to draw, simulate, and plot the input and output waveforms of a small signal amplifier circuit using transient analysis over 3 periods.

TRANSIENT ANALYSIS
And the end of this lab session, the student should be able to:
1. Know the concept of Transient Analysis
2. Know the steps to do transient Analysis
3. Simulate circuit using Transient Analysis

MATERIAL AND
APPARATUS

Personal Computer with Orcad Family Release 9.2 Software

THEORY

The transient analysis use to look at plots of voltages and

current versus time. This simulation displays waveform as you
would see them on an oscilloscope screen. Using this analysis,
we will be able to know what the circuit does to the input
waveform by looking at the output waveform as a function of
time.

PROCEDURE:

1.
2.

Create a circuit as shown in Figure 2.1

Add voltage marker

A. SIMULATION SETTING TRANSIENT

1.

Click Pspice New Simulation

2. Name it and click create
3. Simulation setting dialogue will appear
4. Analysis type: Time domain (Transient)
5. Run time: 2ms
6. Click SKIPBP
7. Click OK
8. Click run
