PPT PI1.1 Slide 1 My Favourite TV Show. Pre-teach: favourite, episode, interesting, creatures, hunt, danger, series Students find and underline the vocab in Students find and underline the vocab in Task 1 in the article. Invite the students to guess the meaning from context and place definitions on the board. Ask students to read through text again and underline any other words they dont understand. Talk through vocab as a group. Task 2 Students then move on to answer True/False to each question based on their understanding of the article. Correct as a class. Task 3 Students match the words with the definitions. Correct as a class. TV genres Wordsearch Pre-teach the vocabulary in the box, check for definitions and place on the board if necessary. Students complete in pairs or groups. Feedback as a class.

Adverbs of frequency Teacher can place several everyday activities on the board and an adverb of frequency line going from always to never. Invite the students to guess how often do I? Lead on to how of ten do you..? with selected students. Students complete interview in pairs. Feedback as class taking one sentence from each pair. Focus on 3rd person forms in replies.

Students re-order sentences using adverbs of frequency. Perform first couple as a class and put them on the board to check comprehension.

Restricted practice

Writing: my favourite TV programme Teacher describes their favourite tv programme using the writing prompts. Optional research a popular emirati tv programme and allow the students to guess from the information given. Students use prompt questions to create a piece of writing on the headed HO Optional - Students can complete in pairs and then present to the class without mentioning the name of the programme. Other students then guess the name of the programme being described.

Group work: Create your own TV guide. - Include: day, channel, time of programme, title, synopsis, rating (optional) - PPT Each PI ss does 1 synopsis. - 1.1 Present to class.
