Position Announcement
The United States Peace Corps program in Kosovo seeks a qualified and motivated candidate for
the following full-time position:
Program Manager, FSN-7 (14,810.00)
The United Peace Corps is a non-political, non-religious organization, which will bring American
Volunteers to Kosovo to teach English and to work with Municipalities and NGOs. The Peace
Corps is an agency of the United States Government and was founded by President John F.
Kennedy in 1961. General information about Peace Corps can be found on www.peacecorps.gov.
The Program Manager works as a member of the Programming & Training Unit, supporting the
Peace Corps Kosovo Program. The Program Manager will:
Manage Peace Corps projects; represent Peace Corps as the primary liaison for the
projects; maintain and update the project frameworks; and explore possibilities for future
projects;
Manage communication with Peace Corps Headquarters in regard to the number of
Volunteers requested, the information provided to the new Volunteers, and the ongoing
performance of Volunteers in-country;
Develop new sites for Volunteers throughout Kosovo, ensuring appropriate work
assignments and housing arrangements;
Support Volunteers while they are working at their two-year assignments; and
Actively participate in the 10-week Pre-Service Training for Volunteers.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education: University Degree required, preferably in teacher education or foreign language
education
Professional Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience working in related fields, such as
international program administration, education, community development and training
Language: Fluent Albanian, Serbian and English (both written and oral) required
Knowledge & Skills:
Demonstrated abilities to maintain professional networks of contacts with organizations
and/or government officials through personal contact and correspondence;
Demonstrated abilities in supervision, management, and M&E (monitoring and evaluation);
Coaching or counseling experience;
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills; and
Demonstrated willingness and effectiveness in working cooperatively as a part of a team.
Desired Qualifications
High quality writing and translation skills;
Demonstrated abilities in strategic planning, and project design and management;
Background and experience in teacher education and foreign language learning;
Training design and facilitation experience utilizing experiential, adult-education
methodologies;
Experience working in a cross-cultural setting as a part of an intercultural team; and
Excellent computer skills.
This position begins as an FSN Grade Equivalent 7 with an approximate gross annual salary of
14,810 + benefits. ***Please note: the position will begin on or around January 11
