EDC Practical 5

The document describes various diode clipping circuit configurations including series and shunt diode positive and negative clippers with and without positive or negative references. It explains how clipping circuits work to select parts of a waveform above or below a reference level by turning the diode on or off. The experiment aims to implement these different clipping circuits using a function generator, oscilloscope, DC source, diode and resistor. Diagrams of the circuit configurations are provided along with explanations of how they clip portions of the input waveform.

Theory: clipping circuit is used to select for transmission that part of an arbitrary

portion of the waveform .Clipping Circuit are also referred to as voltage limiters.
Clamping circuit preserves shape of the waveform while clipping circuit does not
preserve shape of waveform. Clipping circuits are also known as voltage limiter or
amplitudelimiterorslicers.Someclippercircuitsareexplainedhere.
