Q.no.1:- What is a flowchart?
Ans:- A flowchart is a graphical representation of an algorithm in which steps are laid
out in a logical order.
Q.no.2:- List the symbols used for flowcharts.
Ans:- Some symbols of flowcharts are given below.
i- Start/Stop symbol
ii- Input/Output symbol.
iii- Flow lines.
iv- Processing symbol.
v- Decision Box.
vi- Connector.
Q.no.3:- What is Branching and Looping?
Ans:- Branching:
The branching in a flowchart is caused due to some conditions. It is
shown by the decision box in a flowchart.
Looping:
A loop is the sequence of instructions that repeats a specified
number of times until a particular condition is met.
Q.no.4:- What is a program?
Ans:- An algorithm written in a programming language and executed by a computer is
called computer program
Q.no.5:- What is BASIC?
Ans:- It is a language that can be easily learned by beginners.
Q.no.6:- Define FORTRAN.
Ans:- It is used for writing programs for solving scientific and mathematical problems.
Q.no.7:- What is the usage of C and C++ language?
Ans:- These are languages used for writing programs for various uses and business
applications.
Q.no.8:- What is the usage of Visual Basic and Visual C++?
Ans:- These languages are used for writing programs with graphical user interfaces.

Ans:- This language is used in internet-based applications.

Chapter 4
Q.no.1:- What is a PowerPoint presentation?
Ans:- A PowerPoint presentation comprises of a series of slides. A slide can contain
text, graphics, clip arts, sounds, movies and animation.
Q.no.2:- How can we insert pictures in the presentation?
Ans:- Steps to add a picture in presentation are.
i- Go to the Insert tab and select picture button. An Insert picture dialogue box
opens on the screen.
ii- Browse to search the picture from your files on the computer.
iii- Select the picture.
iv- Click on the insert button. The selected picture will be inserted in the slide.
Q.no.3:- How can we insert Clip Art in the presentation?
Ans:- Steps to add a Clip Art in presentation are.
i- Go to the Insert tab to select Clip Art button. The Clip Art task pane will appear.
ii- In the Search for box, type the word of the picture to be inserted.
iii- Click on the Go button.
iv- The list of pictures will appear in the task pane.
v- Click on the Clip Art to insert in the slide.
Q.no.4:- What is a chart? How many types of charts?
Ans:- Charts allow you to present information contained in a worksheet in a graphic
format. MS PowerPoint offers many types of charts including Column, Line, Pie, Bar,,
Area, Scatter etc.
Q.no.5:- Write the steps to insert a chart in a PowerPoint presentation.
Ans:- Steps to insert a chart are:
i- Click on the insert tab to select the chart button on the Ribbon. An Insert Chart
dialogue box opens on the screen.
ii- Select the type of chart.
iii- Click OK to insert it.
Q.no.6:- How will you edit a chart?
Ans:- Steps to edit a chart are:
i- Select the chart.
ii- Go to the Edit data on the Design tab. The spreadsheet containing the data
opens on the screen.

iii- Edit data in the spreadsheet. The chart in the slide will show the changes in the
data of the spreadsheet.
Q.no.7:- What is Slide transition?
Ans:- The way one slide follows the other slide on the screen is called slide transition.
Q.no.8:- What is Animation?
Ans:- Animation is the process where multiple images are displayed rapidly in a
sequence such that the images appear to be in motion.
Q.no.9:- What is Slide Animation?
Ans:- Slide animation effects are predefined special effects that you can add to objects
on a slide.
Q.no.10:- Write the steps to insert a table into a slide.
Ans:- Steps to insert a table into a slide are.
i- Go to the Insert tab of the Ribbon and select the Table button on the Table
group.
ii- A drop down menu appears.
iii- Click on the Draw Table option on the drop down menu.
iv- Drag the cursor to create area for your table.

Chapter 5
Q.no.1:- List out the steps to create the speaker notes.
Ans:- Steps to add speaker notes are:
i- Select the slide.
ii- Go to View Tab of MS-PowerPoint window and select Notes Page option. A Click
to add text section appears.
iii- Type in the notes for that slide.

Q.no.2:- List out the steps to record a narration for the slide show.
Ans:- Steps to record narration for the slides are:
i- Go to the Record Narration option on the Slide Show tab and click on it. A
Record Narration dialogue box appears. It informs you how much hard drive
space you have.
ii- Set Microphone level to check the level of audio input.
iii- Click OK to record the narration.

Q.no.3:- Illustrate the steps to print the presentation.


Ans:- Steps to print a presentation are:
i- Click on the Microsoft Office Button. A drop-down menu appears.
ii- Click on Print option.
iii- In the Print dialogue box, click on the arrow next to Print.
iv- Click OK to print.

Q.no.4:- List out some important things to keep in mind for an effective
presentation.
Ans:- Some important points for an effective presentation are:
i- Slides should be of a consistent design.
ii- Use graphics and pictures to make the presentation attractive.
iii- Remove un-necessary information.
iv- Use maximum three fonts for the text in a presentation.
v- Keep the fonts consistent.
