CHM Input Output
CHM Input Output
For CHM and EXM with pinout assignments and harness connectors illustrations.
For maximum acceptable current load for full Chassis Module output pins (06-34530-XXX), and
for maximum acceptable current load for standard Chassis Module output pins (06-42391-000).
NOTE: Either of five VBAT inputs (VBAT1, VBAT2, VBAT3, VBAT4, or VBAT5)
can supply power to Bulkhead Module microprocessor through an internal diode
network. Chassis Module with its input VBAT1, VBAT2, or VBAT3 follows same rule.
In theory, module will be functional if either of module's VBAT inputs is supplying
power.
Maximum acceptable combined current load for each output pin on group of pins are listed. If
maximum load exceeds, CHM software turns OFF output pin or group of pins.
In Test Mode, outputs supply more current load than maximum current values indicated. When
performing tests, use care not to go beyond maximum combined values for more than few
minutes. Doing so will affect life of output driver inside CHM.
In place of frame rail behind cab, some M2 vehicles have CHM factory installed under cab. This
alternate location affects wiring. For CHM that is factory installed under cab. For CHM mounted
on frame rail, behind cab wiring diagram.
In place of frame rail behind cab, some M2 vehicles have CHM factory installed under cab.
If CHM is factory installed under cab, either A06-46893-000, -001 or A06-46894-000, -001 that
contain jumper looms is used. Both drawings of harnesses indicate end of jumper loom at F-11
and air management unit (AMU) harness end at F-7. See third column in Circuits For A Chassis
Module Mounted Under Cab , for circuit numbers. For jumper loom.
For both methods, see Circuits For A Chassis Module Mounted Under Cab .

See Table Circuits For A Chassis Module Mounted Under Cab , is applicable if CHM is factory
installed under cab. DO NOT follow this process if forward chassis harness is relocated by
customer or body builder.
Vehicle with a factory-installed under-cab CHM and power takeoff (PTO) controls with AMU
solenoid may be wired with circuit numbers 200 and 200E for PTO AMU solenoid. When these
circuits become part of jumper loom in forward chassis harness, number change to 399F (or
481G) and 399G (or 481M) respectively.
Circuits between in-line connector, and each function (equipped in vehicle) are called out in bill
of material for that function.
In above example, remaining circuits in jumper loom in forward harness are unused. This will
confuse technician since G06-XXXXX-XXX wiring diagram for each individual function does not
indicate additional wiring in forward chassis harness or circuit numbers if CHM is mounted
under cab.

NOTE: For list of current, see maximum allowable current load for each output
pin. EXM software will shut output pin if maximum value exceeds.
In Test Mode, more current load will be supplied by outputs than maximum allowable values
indicated. During test, use care not to exceed maximum values for more than a few minutes,
doing so will affect life of output driver inside EXM.
