COC 1 - INSTALL AND CONFIGURE COMPUTER SYSTEMS (2 hours)

Install and configure computer systems

a. Disassemble and assemble computer hardware


b. Configure the BIOS and test the assembled unit to check whether it will boot or not
c. Prepare the installers
d. Install the operating system
e. Install application softwares

COC 2 – SET UP COMPUTER NETWORKS (2.5 hours)

Set up and test the computer networks


a. Perform network cabling management / arrangement
b. Perform network cable splicing (straight cable) – at most 16 pieces RJ45
c. Set Network configuration
d. Test the Network (SOHO networks / AD HOC networks)
e. Set up Router / Wi-Fi/Wireless
f. Create wireless network with security
g. Set up internet connection sharing
h. Set up wireless access point
i. Set up firewall, quality of service (QOS), MAC authentication
j. Conduct test

COC 3 – SET UP COMPUTER SERVERS (1.5 hours)

Set up and test the computer servers


a. Create Peer-to-Peer Networks
b. Configure Network Server
c. Remote Desktop
d. Perform file and printer sharing
e. Perform testing of networks and documentation

COC 4 – MAINTAIN AND REPAIR COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND NETWORKS (1 hour)

Perform maintenance and repair of computer systems and networks


a. Prepare materials needed for maintenance
b. Evaluate or diagnose problems
c. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
d. Create backup or system image
e. Restore backup or system image
f. Check and test computer systems and networks for safe operation
