1 Main overview window
Displays the composed image.
2 Progress bar
Displays the progress of the scan. If a “stitching” license is generated, the stitching
progress at the end of the scan is displayed. Be aware that the stitching process may
take up to several minutes.
3 Screeshot button
Stores the image shown on the main overview window. The user can zoom-in or
navigate in that window and store multiple views.
5 Open Image
Opens a previously saved overview image

Adjusts contrast and brightness of the processed overview image

Starts a scan.

Starts a new 3DRR project.
7 Label textbox
Here you can add a label to an image, which will be used in the filenames of the

shown. Clicking the button will acquire a new NavCam or SEM overview.

1 Connection Settings
Type the IP Address of the Phenom to connect.
2 Export Path
Select the default export path from the pop-up menu.
3 Averaging
Choose the averaging value of the SEM image.
7 Show manual
Opens this user manual.
8 Save
Saves your preferences.
9 Cancel
Cancels changes and exits the settings page.
• Use the button to select between NavCam overview and SEM overview.
3 Make a selection of the area of interest, using your left mouse button.
> The size of the overview will be displayed in the scanning details area of the screen.
> A square area can be forced by holding Shift on the keyboard when making the area
selection.
4 Set the detail slider ( ) to the desired level SEM magnification, using your
left mouse button.
> The indication of the end resolution, number of tiles needed to complete the
overview and time needed for this will be adjusted automatically and shown in the
scanning details area of the screen.
Magnifying the image (Zoom) • The high resolution overview can be magnified for close-up inspection. For this, use
your mouse scroll wheel. You can also move the image dragging it.
• Press Ctrl and Space on the keyboard simultaneously to reset the image to the normal view.
5 In order to start a AIM scan, first enter a name for the project in the label textbox
Scanning the sample 6 Click the button to start the scanning process.
> The complete overview will now be collected. The remaining scanning time will be
indicated in the scanning details area.
> The tiles created during the scanning process will automatically be saved in the
current export directory.
• Click the button at any time if you wish to stop the scanning process.
• Click the button to start a new project. In this case, the selection overviews will
remain the same but the users will need to enter a new label before starting a scan.

> The label is postfixed with a number to distinguish between various scans with
the same label. E.g. when the name is ‘Fly’, the export directory will be ‘Fly0000’,
Fly0001’, etc.
