INTRODUCTION
The power supply is an electronic device that supplies usable power to your
device and it is almost seen everywhere in the world. It is a crucial part in almost
every electronic device and without the power supply; most of the appliances we
have seen today will not exist.
A power supply has four main parts which are the transformer, rectifier, filter
and the regulator. In our design, we have added a Pre-amplifier in order to
improve our power supply. In summary, 220V of ac voltage first goes through the
center tapped transformer and the center tapped transformer steps down the ac
voltage. It then goes through your rectifier which then converts your ac voltage to
pulsating dc voltage. The pulsating dc voltage then goes through your filter which
then filters out the pulsating dc voltage in order to produce a more stable dc
voltage but it is still not clean enough to be used by the device being powered up
so it goes through that last part of the power supply which is the regulator which
the zener diode is used. It is then converted to the stable dc voltage used by our
appliances and devices
