Assessment Task 1 - Software

SIT323 students have varying levels of programming experience depending on their major. To account for this, students completing assignments have the choice to use either C# and Visual Studio 2017 or Excel, with the exception that those in the Cloud Computing (v1) major before January 2018 must use Excel. Majors taking SIT323 include Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Programming, Software Development, and Web Systems. This document provides guidance on the software options for the course assessments.

SIT323 Cloud Application Development, Trimester 2, 2019

Assessment Tasks 1 and 2 – Software Requirements

Dear SIT323 students

As SIT323 has been placed at the end of several majors (listed below) and has replaced
SIT340 in the 1st version of the Cloud Computing major, there are students enrolled in
SIT323 that have had no need to study any programming units and must graduate by
passing SIT323 to obtain the Cloud Computing (v1) major.

• Cloud Computing (v1)

• Cloud Computing (v2)
• Computer Science
• Programming
• Software Development
• Web Systems

Consequently there are many student enrolled in SIT323 that have very good programming
skills from units such as SIT102, SIT232, SIT221 and SIT322; but many other SIT323
students have no programming skills.

To resolve this issue, software allowed to complete assignments are:

• C# and MS Visual Studio 2017, or

• Excel for those students enrolled in the Cloud Computing (v1) major.

If you enrolled in the Cloud Computing major before 01-JAN-2018, then you enrolled in the
1st version.

If you are still enrolled in this Cloud Computing (v1) major, you may choose Excel. It is
expected that all other students use C# (C sharp).
