GENERAL INFORMATION.
This procedure provides the instruction for use of CMS built-in simulator of primary voltage and
current.
INTRODUCTION.
CMS software package has an optional module for simulations of voltages and current. Thi module
also allows the operation of the simulated recloser when the tank is not available or RC-10 demo box
is used.
This is licensed module. In order to obtain the licence for this feature, Licence Request must be issued
from CMS (Administration/License details/Request for new licence) or alternatively contact NOJA
Power on sales@nojapower.com.au.
Care should be taken when simulator is used on the equipment installed in service.
Incorrect use of the simulator might result in tripping of the recloser.
APPLICABILITY.
This procedure is applicable for CMS software version 1.0.1238 and above. The person, working with
Simulator, shall have good knowledge of OSM and RC products and be familiar with CMS software
package.
Personal Computer (PC) with CMS software installed and Simulator module licensed
USB A to USB B cable for connection of the PC to RC-10 cubicle or Demo Box
RC-10 Control cubicle or Demo Box.
USING OF SIMULATOR
When Simulator module is licensed, the Simulator configuration will be added to the “System -> Libraries” tab:
- “Open”: This function provides the list of the files and allows you to open selected file.
- “New”: This function generate the new file template
- “Delete”: This function allows you to delete the selected file
- “Simulation Library” allows to view the database of the files available
- “Import”: This allows you to bring the files from another PC
- “Export”: This allows you to export the file to another PC
The simulated signals must be configured and saved in the Simulator file first. To create the file,
select “New” from Simulator Libraries option:
In order simulate the primary signals or fault in the relay, CMS should be on-line with the RC-10 controller or
Demo Box. The controller/demo box must be in Local mode to allow the sequence to be simulated.
To inject the sequence in the Relay, go to “System -> Online Operations” and select the desirable file from the
drop down list under “Start Simulator” button:
When Simulation is applied to the relay, the analogue values will be reported on the Panel, CMS and DNP3
protocol. Protection operation of the recloser can be tested – this will require the configuration of the protection
settings. Also the OSM simulator can be operated from Panel, CMS or protocol.
To stop the simulation – please press “Stop Simulation” button or wait till the end of the sequences.
