entitled “The Benefits Coffee for Healthy”. The writer also wishes to express her deep and sincere
gratitude for those who have guided in completing this essay. This English essay is about the coffee can
lead to many health benefits on the human body. Hopefully, this essay can help the readers to expand
their knowledge about benefits of coffee.
First, according to a study, coffee consumption may reduce the risk of depression. Some
researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health reported that people who drank four or more cups
of coffee each day had a 20 percent lower risk of experiencing depression. While people who eat 2-3 cups
of coffee a day had a 15 percent lower risk. There are also some evidences that coffee protects men from
depression. Caffeine in coffee can increase energy and mood even in the short term. Harvard researchers
also saw a similar reduction in depressed people who consumed caffeinated soft drinks. In depression
patients, the mind and the heart will not be in sync so it is unable to control themselves. Therefore, in
such circumstances, drink a glass of coffee! because coffee makes the drinker feels happier.
Second, the results of recent studies have shown, people who love to drink coffee do not have a
greater risk of developing chronic diseases. Anna Floegel, a researcher who also epidemiologist from the
German Potsdam-Rehbruecke, saying "our results show that coffee consumption is not harmful for
healthy adults related to the development of chronic diseases". Coffee may reduce the risk of some
chronic diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Gout Arthritis and Diabetes mellitus type 2. As a result,
people who consumed coffee regularly can prevent swollen joints caused by uric acid crystallizes, lower
the risk of Parkinson's and compounds in coffee can reduce the level of sugar in the blood.
Third, caffeine can fight against cancer so that if we, the coffee consumption may reduce the
risk of some cancers. In 2011, Harvard researchers found that women who drank four cups of coffee a day
will have a reduced risk of endometrial cancer (cancer of the uterus) by 25%. Another study in 2011 at
Harvard shows, men who consumed six cups of coffee a day, have 60 percent less likely to develop
prostate cancer, and 20 percent less likely to develop the type of prostate cancer. Results of a meta-
analysis study revealed that coffee consumption may reduce the risk of some cancers such as bladder
cancer, breast cancer, pharyngeal cancer, colorectal cancer, endometrial cancer, liver cancer, and prostate
cancer. Therefore, consumption of coffee every day in the recommended amounts can prevent the onset
of cancer.
In summary, the coffee is a beverage that contains caffeine which can increase the adrenalin in
the body so as to create a more focused and alert. The coffee turned out to have many benefits beyond
fighting drowsiness. Some of the benefits of coffee that has been proven by research is that it can prevent
depression, minimize the risk of chronic diseases and reduce the risk of cancer. In addition, it is good to
consume coffee in accordance with the needs and condition of the body. It is the best way for the sake of
finding more benefits than disadvantages, because the consumption of the correct way is to support a
healthy lifestyle.
