INTRODUCTION
Established in 2009, Everton Tea India Pvt. Ltd. has made a name for itself in the list of top
suppliers of Tea in India. The supplier company is located in SriCity, Andhra Pradesh and is
one of the leading sellers of listed products.
Directors of Everton Tea India Private Limited are Roshan A Gunawardhana, Ramesh
Subramaniam, Federico Dodero.
Everton Tea India Pvt. Ltd. is listed in Trade India's list of verified sellers offering supreme
quality of Kundah Valley Green Tea, Organic Lemon Balm Infusion Tea , Nilgiri Tea Long Leaf,
etc. The main plant is based on Italy where the sister company is in Croatia. Everton is a brand
name that competes successfully with market leaders.
While Everton has accomplished brand recognition in many markets, the company
consistently works toward improving current market share and staying ahead of the curve in
terms of new products.
The tea market has a constantly growing and evolving customer base, and Everton desires to
be innovative by providing products that match the changing needs and tastes of consumers.
The company is also looking into expanding into overseas markets such as America and
Australia.
RAW MATERIALS
Almost 90 percent of the tea leaves are Indian majorly from Nilgiris, Assam, Darjeeling and
rest 10 percent of tea leaves are imported from China and Sri Lanka. At the initial stage of
procurement of leaves, a sample is taken from each category and sent to Italy for quality
analysis.
Leaves are mainly categorized in to conventional and organic where conventional products
are grown using pesticides and organic is pesticide-free. It takes almost 15 days to 1 month
for procurement and testing to be done followed by generating quality reports before
procurement.
ORDERING QUANTITY
Almost 6 tons of leaves are procured from the producer after quality analysis with 3 tons per
batch. A relatively small quantity of leaves is procured batch-wise because it will be easy to
reject the batch if contaminated products are received. The above process is followed by the
testing phase where each type of leaves is tested.
PRODUCTS:
Nearly 250 different products are sold whole across the world using the private label as well
as own brands.

The majority of products are consumed in Mexico, Dubai, Italy, and the United States.
Some brands are te Verde-e-foglie-di-menta, Te Classico, Te Denteinafo, etc.
INVENTORY:
Separate bays for Organic Herbal and Conventional products
Conventional products are kept in an ambient temperature of 25-35 degrees Celsius where
herbs are kept under 10 degrees Celsius to avoid moisture.
There are also 3 cold storage areas inside the warehouse where all these herbal products are
kept. The plant needs IFS (International Featured Standard) certification for producing tea
which was started by European countries for maintaining the standard.
PACKAGING MATERIAL
Inner and master curtains, Pyramid tea pouches are supplied from India whereas envelope,
tags, and pyramid tea bags are supplied from Sri Lanka for packaging. Primary packaging uses
tags, tea bags, threads and for some product envelopes whereas secondary will go to master
curtains.
(We saw an estimated inventory of 8 lacs tags which were imported from Sri Lanka)
The costliest material used for packaging is the pyramid bag.
Tea leaves are infused with herbs like Anice, Chamomile, etc for different products.
The costliest organic raw material used in organic vanilla beans that costs around 650
euros/kg. where a kg of Aloe vera costs around 70000 rupees. Some organic materials used
are Melissa, Mallow, Menthol, etc. And flavors used are Apple, ginger, vanilla, blackberry, etc.
Some conventional herbs are tiglio, blackcurrant, hibiscus, aniseed, lavender, tulsi, etc. All the
flavors and blending materials are imported mostly from Egypt, Croatia, Mexico and some are
from India. Rosepetal and rooibos are supplied from South Africa and peppermint is imported
from the USA.
Flavors Testing is done for each batch after blending processes are done to check
contamination. Most of the flavors (both liquid as well as powder) are imported from
Australia and Germany.
Blending Process:
Tea blending is the blending of different teas together to produce a final product. This
occurs chiefly with black tea that is blended to make most tea bags but can also occur with
such teas as Pu-erh, where leaves are blended from different regions before being
compressed. The aim of blending is to create a well-balanced flavour using different origins
and characters.
Blending is done using both liquid and powder flavors by first loading leaves to conveyer
which leads to bucket containers followed by the final blending process.
